Every time we come here I feel unwelcome, their food is overrated and expensive. One always needs to have a reservation. This is our 4th time try, but alas we got disappointed yet again. We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 12:00. Got greeted at the door and asked the waitress for a table, which she replied if we have a reservation, yet when you look around there were around 3-4 tables that were occupied. She pointed to Scotty, who was behind his pedestal taking bookings, instead of helping us to the other 30 available tables or checking with the Book. We got given the menus, which was full of break-stick crumbs and quite nasty to page through. We then ordered drinks and waited around 10 minutes before it arrived. Once the drinks arrived, we immediately ordered 4 pizza’s. We then waited for 45-50 minutes. The manager I presumed, his name is Scotty then apologized for the long wait, as I told him it has been 50min, and he wanted to correct me that it has only been 30minutes…. We then waited another 10-15minutes. When the pizza finally arrived mine was bland, which is why I asked for extra Mozzarella in the first place. I then called Scotty over to ask him the difference between mine and my wife’s pizza. She had a Hawaiian with extra Mushroom and I had the Regina and asked for extra Mozzarella. He then recalled the order correctly however, I could not see any extra Mozzarella. I then left it there not to argue further, as I was so hungry at this point in time that I just finished my pizza. The others left about a quarter of their pizzas and my wife half of hers.
No complimentary dessert will make up for bad service as Scotty wanted to offer at the end, but I just wanted to get out of there.
Unfortunately the experience was so bad that I...
Read moreA friend and myself had lunch at Lupa today. We both ordered fish and roasted vegetables.
The fish had a bright yellow colour. All I can think is that you have started using fake butter as the fish was also not as tasty as usual.
The vegetables were dreadful, inedible actually. Both of us did not eat our vegetables. The taste was bitter and burnt. I think rancid burnt oil was used for roasting. Old oil is dangerous and toxic btw.
My family have eaten at Lupa regularly over the years since it opened in Midstream. This is my first experience of a bad meal there and it was spectacularly bad. I didn’t want to complain in front of my friend who paid for this disaster.
I still have the bitter flavour of the vegetables in my mouth.
I have always recommended your restaurant to others. I now feel like I need rather to warn people against spending good money on bad and...
Read moreFirst and last time I will patron this restaurant.
Ordered food for delivery. The chicken prego on panini bread was burnt (image attached of the underside) and had so much "sauce" on that it had become soggy. The wet patch on the bottom is moisture that has passed through the bread. I threw the bread away.
Also ordered the "chargrilled" calamari, worst calamari I have ever seen. It looks like the calamari was boiled. Also obvious pink sections. On calamari a pink colour = degrigation.
Took one bite of the rubber pink calamari and threw the rest away. My partner ate her calamari (we shared 1 portion 50/50) and she had a upset stomach during the night.
I hope you have a better experience but this restaurant will never see me again.
Update I was personally contacted by the owner, he was very professional and apologetic about the situation. At least the customer...
