Ocean Basket Boksburg North Satellite — Restaurant in Gauteng

Every Monday evening after 7pm, our (me and my wife) visit to Ocean Basket, Boksburg North have become something I always look forward to. Rarely does one find such a perfect blend of warm hospitality, top-tier food, and attentive management — this place consistently delivers.

From the moment you walk in, the staff greet you like family. Friendly doesn’t even begin to cover it. They’re engaging, helpful, and always have smiles on their faces, even during the busy times. Whether it’s helping with specials, asking after how your food is, or just making sure you’ve got everything — their friendliness genuinely enhances the entire dining experience.

The food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish feels fresh and well-prepared — from the classics like fish and chips to the calamari. Portions are generous without compromising on quality. The flavourings, sauces, side dishes — everything comes together well, balanced but interesting. As regular visitors, we’ve rarely had a meal there that disappointed. If anything, the experience is elevated because the team knows the menu inside out and seem to take pride in cooking for people who truly appreciate it.

A big part of why this Ocean Basket hits the mark is the management. They’re present, involved, and clearly genuinely care about how things run. They make sure service flows smoothly, staff are well-coordinated, and that they check in with patrons to ensure everything is on point. It’s obvious that this isn’t just another branch doing its thing — there’s a sense of pride and responsibility that shows in every detail, down to the ambience, the spotless dining area, the promptness and warmth of service.

Overall, Monday nights at Ocean Basket Boksburg North are reliably excellent. Great food, warm people, thoughtful management — it makes the entire evening feel more than just a meal; it’s a place where you’re always welcome, always satisfied, and always end up looking forward to coming back.

3rd time that we are disappointed with Ocean Basket as a franchise. Thought we would give them another chance at the Boksburg branch....but again very very bad. We were the only two people in the restaurant and our food took a while to get to the table. They did not even had garlic as part of their usual table condiments. It looked like they only had one cook in the kitchen. Food finally received we found the calamari strips way over spiced. Fried fish was over coocked. 80% of the prawns was ompletely overcooked. My wife ordered the spinach and butternut sides which was also cold and not even butternut as stated....tasted more like gem squash. Not a good experience at all and will not come back here again and will think twice before going to any Ocean basket again. They might just as well close...

This Ovean Basket has been open for a couple of months, and despite the location, which is a little odd, it's one of the best Ocean Baskets in the area.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that a restaurant located in Boksburg North may lack atmosphere, but it's quite the opposite. Perhaps it's the more intimate space and welcoming decor? But you come here for the food and that didn't disappoint. The fried items were nicely crispy, the grilled items, nice and buttery. I ordered sushi - the Chef's Platter - which was generous.

Overall, given that we're kind of in the middle of Ocean Basket Boksburg North, Ocean Basket K90 and Ocean Basket Oakfields, I think I will be returning to Boksburg North in future as a...
