Stepping onto a beautifully lush green golf course in immaculate condition, even after heavy rain the night before, was a treat.
With grey and sometimes dark clouds hanging overhead for the duration of my round, the atmosphere enhanced what could almost be described as a spiritual experience.
The luxury of playing a round of golf on a Monday morning, while the majority of people in Johannesburg were starting their workweek, made the experience even more special.
The course felt less hectic and unrushed, unlike the chaos I sometimes encounter when playing on a weekend morning.
The beautiful and calming sound of the wind blowing through the trees, birds chirping, and the distant hum of mowers cutting grass added to the experience—along with the magical sound of a driver’s clubface striking a golf ball.
The fairways were excellent, the green were soft yet still fast—offering a great test for any handicap golfer.
