Sir James Van Der Merwe — Restaurant in Gauteng

Amazing vibe and stunning venue. It has a really high roof and multiple fans so it feels nice and airy in there which is great for dancing, which there is a lot of. The music is upbeat with a lot of throwbacks to older classics. They have a long bar and lots of bartenders so you get helped quite quickly and they allow patrons to dance on it which I thought was cute. The age range of patrons were quite wide with younger and older people but I would say most were 21+ and lots of high 20's to early 40's. I was there only once on a Wednesday evening so my experience is only for that evening so it might be different other nights but it was really a good first impression and I would definitely go...

Finally had a favourable day to go and dine at Sir James Van Der Merwe. Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant place! The atmosphere, music, service and everything is why the place is on only open on a Wednesday, and I can understand why due to its popularity. A very retro decoration in what it seems used to be a old warehouse. From scooters to bycicles old photos, world maps and more adorn the place and gives it real character. I dont expect much from any margerieta pizza but this one with the chips was the best I ever had!

What a nice place for a beautiful sunset and a drink with friends! They gave great atmosphere and lovely food. I enjoyed the sushi and baos and prices are quite affordable.
