My family and I had a meal here yesterday.
We ordered a focaccia for the table that was great.
My Mother ordered the grilled hake and a salad and I have no idea what was in the salad, but my Mother has been extremely ill since eating that and that was all she ate.
I ordered the zuchetti and meatballs, the zuchetti was great the meatballs were too salty with excessive garlic. I actually found almost a full clove of garlic in one meatball. Bear in mind, because I enjoy Italian food I’ve been lucky to eat at a few Italian restaurants locally and internationally so rest assured I know the difference between too salty and adequate or excessive garlic.
My son had the lasagna which was he said was okay.
Further impacting my negative experience was misplacing a valuable (value in price and sentiment) ring in the bathroom and needing to literally call their landline 9 times (literally 9 times) before someone answered. Unfortunately that is now stolen. It is my fault alone that the ring was misplaced but the nonchalance of the teams that eventually answered the phone just added to the negative experience.
Other than this, the view of the tarmac adds a nice ambience but all things considered not a place we will visit ever again. We prefer not to get sick, not eat copious amount of salt or chunks of garlic and in the event of anything being misplaced or lost - we would prefer to deal with a team that answers the phone and has some level of empathy for what their clients experience.
Posting an updated in light of the response received: We ordered a sit down meal. The non-alcoholic drinks we ordered and the foccacia arrived at the table. A take-away was requested a full 30 minutes after the focaccia had already been eaten. This is not a detail I was going to get into but alas....I will provide it for clarity. Its important to understand why I was frustrated during the call, as I highlighted, albeit briefly in this review. Courtesy is something that goes both ways. It is most unfortunate, you asked me no questions about this - even after I addressed you directly. Instead, you have only taken one point of view into account. I would have appreciated you asking me what was said to me to make me go from distressed to frustrated. Further, when I call is completely irrelevant to my complaint - but for further clarity I called once I realized. As I recall, I also let you know directly why I took the ring off in the first place - details I am not sharing here simply because losing the ring is entirely my own fault. It is unfortunate I am going into details about this instead of "as a customer, what irked you besides needing to call 9 times" Nonetheless, thank you for taking heed of my concerns which...

There re two entrances to Villa San Giovanni; the one entrance from the airport takes you directly to the enclosed terrace with spacious seating area on comfortable chairs. From which exciting views of the aircrafts taking off and landing can be enjoyed. Spoil yourself with a variety of bespoke cocktails made with the finest ingredients while you look out at the mountains on the horizon. A wonderful dedicated area for kids to play with lots to keep them occupied for a long time. The highlight is that kids can make their pizzas in the Giovanni’s pizzeria , a gorgeous colourful children’s play area. Looking for something special? Ale’s creative room is where you can buy upscale and sort after children’s arts and crafts - Melissa and Doug and LEGO The kids love the area where they can create their own sand art I was very impressed with the selection of tantalising Italian dishes. Having tried from the green salad and Russian salad (this is a must) to several slices of a tasty selection of pizzas and pastas, not to mention Italian Spaghetti Bolognaise, I had to go for seconds! The food is prepared with absolute care using ingredients in season and seems it’s ‘Mammas Secret Recipe’ is still be used to create every mouthful. Presentation of the food is wonderful making you want even more. There is an A’la Carte Menu and a regular weekly special board. A superb selection of local and imported drinks in exclusive glasses are available. For those wanting a more tranquil, fine dining this is catered for in a more relaxing but slightly exclusive area which has an ornately carved floor to ceiling wooden cabinet for cooling wines. Bespoke metal lanterns hanging from the ceiling above beautifully laid tables. Impressive decor with calm lighting. There is WiFi available and one of the top-trained waitrons will be glad to assist with connecting. Waitrons are all well groomed and attentive – service is superb! Fascinatingly they have real leather aprons. Upstairs is a j&b smoking lounge and good to know that this area can also be booked for private functions. All round a great place to enjoy real Italian food and the owner being hands on came to check up on guests to see how they are doing with a warm...
Read moreI went here on 25/05/2014, and I was horrified by just about everything. When my family and I walked in, there were about 4 tables without any tablecloths, or anything just standing half in the way, with bowls of cutlery on it. We stood at the entrance for a few minutes, and once I realized I am not going to get help this way, I decided we should walk to the outside, to see if there is maybe someone to help us. We walked past about 10-15 patrons, not 1 of them stopped, and asked if they can help. We managed to find ourselves at the bottom where the kids play area is, and still no waiter in sight. After standing there like idiots, I eventually found a waiter that I asked if we could be helped, or if there is a table available, she told me "I don't know" I mean, really? in the pizzeria where the kids can make their own pizzas, there was 1 employee there, which was not very helpful either, and during this, my daughter found a card machine just laying around, amongst other things I won't even mention. It was the first time I went there, and it is definitely the last time. We went to Panarotti's and guess what?, we were helped within 10 second from walking...
