Worst treatment I ever experienced at Wimpy! Yesterday evening at 18:45 we wanted to order 2 milkshakes, but was told by the waitress Senzeni that it must be take away as they are closing at 19:00. We walked out and saw the seating outside, and returned to order take away and use the outside seating area, thus not interfering with their closing time, even though we could see other patrons still being served.
When we returned, she turned her back on us and ignored us. Another waitress had to tell her to help us. When we received the R45 milkshakes we paid for, it was in small cups. When I asked about it not served in the correct plastic containers, and missing some items/ingredients and being so small, I got a snide response from Senzeni, upon which I proceeded to request a refund. She picked the order up from the counter, and dropped it down again saying it is regular and then continued to ignore / not listen to us, or trying to offer a solution or explanation (Ignore and the problem will go away must be her mantra) I had to request my money back at least 10 times, and ask the other waitress for the manager before being assisted.
We totally understand working in retail and the long hours is not a good situation. That is why we tried to be considerate and order and sit outside, to not keep them from going home. But this treatment is absolutely...

On Sunday, 29 June 2025, at around 6 PM, we visited Wimpy Lanseria and ordered three burgers: one Big Cheese and two Big Bacon & Cheese Burgers. Unfortunately, the entire experience was extremely disappointing.
When we arrived, the entrance door was closed, unusual for a restaurant during operating hours. We opened door ourselves and were met by a waiter who led us to a table. I asked why the door was shut, and his only response was, “It’s cold.” There was no proper welcome or introduction just a sense of indifference from the start.
After placing our order, the food arrived, and we immediately noticed the burgers were undercooked. The patties tasted terrible and looked unappetizing. The meal was simply not up to standard, and two of us were able to finish our food.
What made it more upsetting was discovering, during a conversation with another passenger at the airport, that they had just dined at the same Wimpy and received excellent service. It left me wondering if our experience was different because of the color of our skin a thought that’s as disheartening as the meal itself.

Read moreWe are locals at this wimpy and have enjoyed it since it has been opened. Frequently visiting up to 4 times a week with a minimum of 3 people and up to 6. There are now more than ever problems with this place. Their "kayway" machine never works so you are stuck paying a fortune for a small cold drink instead of a regular price for a mega (the client shouldn't be penalized for this). The food quality had dropped dramatically! We went for a quick burger the other day ordered our usual and we were very disappointed. We then told the waiter who the sent the manager over. The conversation went as follows. I believe there is a problem? Yes I just took a bite into my burger and its freezing cold (bear in mind we were the only table in the shop). To which he replied well we take our relish out the freezer and put it onto the burger. At this stage I was flabbergasted. No sorry sir ect ect. We have had this problem twice in a row now. Relpy well this is how we do it here (well over my 35 years of being on this earth and about the 400 wimpy burgers I have eaten i have never gotten icecals in my burger).
Your manager has a bad attitude and doesn't listen to customers. He knows who he is.
