On Saturday the 01/05 /2024 I ordered a R309 family platter for a sit in using a self service payment system inside the store. I paid and the speed point machine confirmed payment approval however the self service system did not print out my order slip nor did it display my oder number on the screen. I then proceeded to the cashier's tills and informed them of what happened and I was told that my order has not came through on their side. They called a supervisor lady who double checked everything of which I even showed her proof of transaction on my bank app statement. She then made a call to the senior manager and told her what just happened. The senior manager told her to talk to the store floor manager who was busy at Steers at that time, few minutes later a gentleman (manager) came and told me that I have to pay for my order again since he was sure that the funds for the payment I already made was going to return to my account within a day or two. I refused to pay for the second time and we argued for good +- 15m with the gentleman despite me showing him proof of payment on my bank app statement. He eventually left to verify once more while insisting that he was sure my money was to return shortly. I waited for a while more and requested that they put me on the phone with the senior manager they called earlier, the supervisor lady called the senior manager who refused to talk to me saying she cannot be talking to customers. At that time the supervisor lady told me they were going to prepare my order, just as I was then waiting for my order; the same thing happened to a white lady who was ordering at steers using the same self service machine I used. The supervisor lady called the senior manager again to inform her of the incident and then White lady was told that they were going to process her oder without her having to deal with the store manager telling her to pay for the second time nor produce and proof and payment like I had to. The white Lady proceeded and got her order before mine after I had been waiting for over an hour. And lastly no funds returned to my account as the store manager was insisting. Chips were hard, fish had scales at the bottom end, i dont even know how its even possible, the prawn poppers were over fried and soaking in oil. So fishaways is similar to a fish and chips shop in Clairwood from someone selling off the street, in all probability, the street food would be better than what came from fishaways in malvern.
