The one-star rating is for the waitress (Christie) whose efforts to assist us was overshadowed by the (1) long wait for the food (on the items available); (2) terrible food; (3) nonchalant attitude by management (4) Covid-19 adherence. Firstly there was a lot of items on the menu not available ("out-of-stock" or "still frozen"). Secondly the more than 1h20 wait for the food also heated the table (even after asking for it earlier). This was also noticeable from other tables that got up and left. Thirdly the Oxtail that was served was blant and did not look like the meat was cleaned properly (coming from a person that eats oxtail regularly). Lastly, when discussing same with the manager (Kenny) the response was a quick "sorry" and then a walk away which I did not value as an apology at all. Will not be going back ever or recommend the restaurant to any other person and will rather spend my money at another restaurant in the Harties area. Restaurants are complaining that they are struggling during this tough lockdown period, but those that are open must ensure that the service and food is fantastic and that the waiters wear their masks at all time and not only when they walk between the tables (carrying your food from the kitchen without wearing a mask properly will also expose a patron to possible food contamination which is the last thing that anybody wants to get...

Thanks for the reply Nadine, allow me to elaborate: Our issues/complaints had nothing to do with ESCOM, it was basic service. We ordered a starter to share and mains, and only once I enquired after some time, was I asked if I wanted the starter on its own.... then when 2 of the 4 mains were delivered (30mins after placing our order, which is not an issue) we got the steak that was supposed to be Medium, as a blue/raw/rare. The other part of the order was Lamb Curry, and Oxtail Pooitjie, both of which were prepared earlier and not in the kitchen as far as I know, as the waitress still checked and confirmed that there were both meals still left. We only received the oxtail by the time the other party finished their meal, and this was even cold. THEN, I was informed that they no longer had any lamb curry left.
So as you can see this complaint is not directed at the kitchen’s inability to prepare food due to power outage, but rather it is directed at quality of food not prepared properly, being served cold, not on time and orders for food not being managed properly. We stopped there on our way home after our holiday. The waiter was great.
We waited for our food for more than a hour maybe? The food arrived ice cold.
There was loadshedding, but the power came on as they brought our food. My suggestion would be not to serve food during loadshedding if you cannot manage it.
Our food was sent back, an was then just heated in a microwave, please note this was sunnyside eggs...
They were busy pitching a tent right where we were sitting, we struggled to get past the tent that they are pitching for their Christmas event
The owner/manager should work in her office as it creates such a unprofessional environment .
I was looking so forward to visit this restaurant but what a dissapointed it turned out to be.
After complaining we did receive a 50% of our food bill.
It was a very unpleasant experience.
