I was disappointed Straight from the start as I entered onto the property. Firstly the security guard was useless and unfriendly. Walked into reception and there was no one to be found. Searching and waiting around for 5 minutes before a guy appears out of the bathroom, and his first comment was ya... Not even a hello or how many I help you... Eventually i was checked in and all seemed sorted, however, no keys got handed over and when requested them the receptionist(guy on duty) was very confused as if he had given them to me already. Come on, on first impression you have already failed, now I wonder what lies ahead for the rest of the accommodation??? I must also mention, not even a complementary drink was on offer, I would expect you had a little more class than this. Firstly the rooms name is called Kaya, the name says it all...... So lower class, that I think a shack has more class and style then this joint! From Paying a pretty elite price for accommodation you expect something a little more satisfactory than this. Upon opening the door to the room to find Two 3/4 beds on either side of the room, something you would find for a dirty boys weekend away where the guys dont want to get to close to one another and cuddling isn't an option. Clearly if you a wedding venue you would accommodate for couples. Rooms filled with cobwebs & bugs, and listing to the neighbors complaints about bats in their rooms. Laying on this hard bed with just a sleazy mattress, going to be walking around like I took an overload of Viagra walking up all stiff and sore.

Let's see what the remaining part of the weekend has installed for me and the Misses. I'm sure there will plenty let downs if the first couple of hours has been a disappointment if I must say myself.

Note to all, there is accommodation within 2 mins away that offers a whole lots more comfort and style. Be sure to check out the surrounding venues for a top class and...

I booked a table for 4 adults for my 57th birthday on the 31st of December, what a huge mistake I made. Firstly the view is amazing which brings me to our first shocking encounter, I requested a table with a view which was not done so on my birthday I had to eventually blast my fuse to get my request, at that point I should have just left with my guests but no I thought let's give them a chance, it took about 12 minutes for our drinks to arrive, oh sorry we don't have any strawberry daiquiri in stock and no glass was brought for my wife to pour her drink into, why could we not have been told this 12 minutes earlier that you had no stock??? How dare you as owners of this restaurant even think of allowing this type of service to even exist, this is my time my money my birthday, shame on you all for ruining my day no words can explain how disappointed I am. Oh that's not all when we got to order our meal three of my guests wanted oxtail and yes the waiter replied "I don't think that is available let me just check for you" well I called for the bill.... by the way don't give me the excuse now that you were preparing for the new years function that all looked nice, because we were your customers whom you said yes we are open for lunch today and smiled deep down knowing you going to make another quick buck. That's how I felt this whole experience left me feeling, wow I've been robbed and bull sh!ted again....

The worst manager of a venue i hsve ever come upon Leon.My children got married and what a horrible experience we had. The chapel's lights didn't work, the microphone didn't work the pastor had to speak at the top of her lungs so that the guests could hear.In the bridal (honeymoon suite) the air-conditioning didn't work and at temp of 38°c it was horrible for bride and bridesmaids to get ready. The food was great but the service of the manager Leon was horrifying, he was rude and got no manners at all,no relationship in how to work with clients and treat clients. The bar was extremely expensive paying for 2 savanas and 2 coffees R210, paying for a bottle of water R35 not even speaking about brandy, whiskey and beer prices that is ridiculous. Some of the guest paid extra for mattresses for their kids and on requiring about it he Leon was rude to the guests. While at the reception they broke into the honeymoon suite and stole things when the groom phone the manager Leon didn't do anything about it and swear him and hung up on him. They charge for things that the coiple didn't even ask for. When you go to book venue it is all promoses and stories to give you the best and most wonderful wedding (dream wedding) but it is all lies . My opion do not even consider using that venue you will be sorry later it was a nightmare. Leon you as manager must go and get a course on how to treat guests and how to...

April 2021 My first visit to Leopard Lodge was in 2002 with a company, TDE. Since then, Hein Pretorius and I visited the lodge a few times with family and friends for Xmas lunches. Never for breakfast though. Saturday, 24 April – sipped coffee in bed and watched the small brown canaries in our garden – ‘shall we go somewhere for breakfast..’ Hein searched for bush breakfasts and Leopard Lodge popped up. Haven’t been there for at least 4 years. Yes, they do a la carte breakfast between 8 and 10. I dressed warmly in a thick red jacket – it was 13 oC outside. Small clouds were all over the sky – the Hartbeespoort dam is cleared of Hyacinths … good job! Drove up towards the lodge and hordes of vultures were seen circling over the mountain. The lodge has accommodation for 32 people – some rooms for couples, other self-catering houses for a group – all separate from the main lodge. There’s a chapel for weddings and walking trails. Next to the lodge is a boma area, set out with small tables and chairs for breakfast. What an interesting menu! My eyes immediately locked onto the Banters Breakfast … and it didn’t disappoint (although I couldn’t taste the basil pesto). I loved the zucchini noodles and the Halloumi!!! Hein chose the Leopard Sunrise and enjoyed every bite. After breakfast we enjoyed our coffee on comfy chairs that overlook the valley and Hartbeespoort dam. Worth a visit!!!!
