Pemba Mozambican Restaurant — Restaurant in Madibeng Local Municipality

Room for potential but it missed all the marks elegantly. We had a constant sewage smell at our table which might have been something in the area on the day but it obviously set the tone early on.

We ordered chouriço (traditional Portuguese sausage) and we received what appeared to be a russian. Being Portuguese and having eaten chouriço for the past 30 years at the very least, that was not it. There was nothing authentic about what was on the plate received and charging R98 for a Russian was a bit of a let down. At the very least, sell it as that in future so that we as customers know.

Glasses and plates were chipped. Not very professional and a safety hazard for anyone using the crockery. You cannot serve allegedly “freshly made food” on crockery of that nature. Sorry.

The kids play area is situated underneath a Karoo Sweet Thorn tree - clearly no thought went into the layout. I had to pick up and remove the branches with thorns on before my kids could go and play. My child still managed to stand in a thorn.

There are other service oriented and more authentic Portuguese restaurants in the Hartebeespoort area. I cannot recommend Pemba even though I would have liked to.

am disappointed with my experience at Pemba, firstly i was recommended to go to Laurentina ,the waiter said same place , just a name change. Drinks ordered, then the food, we asked about the specials, and two of us ordered Mista chicken fillet & 3 prawns.well over an hour later I indicated to the waiter, where is the food. The steak & prawn curry arrived, then we were presented with Mista beef & chicken. Not what we ordered. When asked where the prawns were told only coming at 5pm , why were we not told. The waiter Calvin did not informed us. The manager did not come to the table either, only when the bill came did we ask for him and was by him it was not fault. We were not informed about a service charge, no where on the menu did it tell you about service charge. The waiter told us the service charge was for the staff & gratuity was for the waiter. The service was atrocious, we felt the situation was not handled well at all. You need to train the staff better, and we will not...

We have been here a few times before and enjoyed our meals therefore we chose to support this restaurant for our Christmas lunch - what an absolute disaster. took over an hour just to get drinks - apparently the bartender was not at the bar for a while- all incorrectly served and some didnt even arrive :-( the waitress seemed highly confused - took our meal orders which arrived 3 hours later and that too only because we kept going to the untidy filthy kitchen - cold, tasteless and disappointing. We took our helper with us to enjoy Christmas lunch and THE MOST HEARTBREAKING MOMENT was when ALL OUR FOOD EVENTUALLY ARRIVED and hers didnt - the waitress was all over the place - didn't know what to do and then brought her a piece of chicken on a plate with no garnish no side nothing!!! We booked here because you were open for the day - you seemed to have sufficient staff - we drove over an hour to get to you in the rain on Christmas and received THE MOST PATHETIC UNAPOLEGETIC...
