I would have rated it 4 stars but after a disappointing repeat visit 2 days after our first experience, it gets 3. The atmosphere and views are fantastic and relaxing. We had breakfast here on New Year's Eve after a challenging but fun MTB session. The food and service was 👍. I came back with a friend 2 days later after a scenic hike 20km away and we both left with our expectations dampened. We were tossed between 3 waiters like hot potatoes. After waiting 20mins for our cafe lattes, we found that the reason for the delay was due to our order being misplaced/lost. misplaced. When the drinks eventually arrived, we were handed black coffees. We told the waiter that this was not what we ordered, and was told that they don't have milk because their stock had expired, but if we really want milk, they can only serve us some warm milk... (I'm still trying to understand how they would have been able to serve warm milk but not a latte). A cheese farm with no milk is a bit odd but then again, we have just survived one of the strangest years in history. Our food order was just as messed up. A new waiter came to 20mins after we'd placed our order (with another waiter) and asked if we could please repeat our order. Clearly our food order had been misplaced/lost too! The food eventually arrived as we almost walked out and it was warm to cold. I asked for white toast but received brown, I asked for my egg to be done medium, but received it soft and runny, the chips had lost its shine and crunch after waiting too long to be collected and served... I didn't bother sending my food back as I probably would have received it after my friend finished her meal... So, to sum up, the quality of the food and service was inconsistent and lacking the...

We went for a Picnic today.

It was very, very, very nice. The atmosphere next to the river was so calm and relaxing, i could have stayed there the entire day.

The booking was super easy with very prompt feedback.

Upon arrival our basket was about 15mins late and this was really absolutely no problem, we then ordered coffee while we waited and when we wanted to pay we were told it's on the house because they kept us waiting!....Now look I am telling you this is service, never in my live was I so welcomed by any place we have ever been to.

At the picnic spot there is also some tables available where you can sit at if you prefer.

We picked the grass to go all out and we received a blanket and table cloth with our basket, the staff help you carry it and help you set up. Absolutely FANTASTIC service that cannot even compare to any other place.

The food was well packed and delicious.

We reveived various snacks like Ham, salami, fruit kebabs, cheeses, biscuits, THE MOST DELICIOUS FRESH BREAD, liver spread, a meat and cucumber kebab, pickled onions, olives, feta, jam, salad, salt, pepper and butter with cutlery.

We ordered some drinks aswell and it was put on ice for us to stay cold.

Everything was freshly prepared and really very delicious, it was also alot of food we couldn't finish our picnic for 2.

Before the waiter leave he even ask if he can take a picture for you with everyone sitting at the picnic. Very nice and considerate.

I wish I could give bonus points and not just 5.

The picnic area is also very neat and clean. There is also a play area for the kids.

Keep up the...

This place has become very commercial, we went on the public holiday to see what everything was about.

They have the cheese factory on site, together with a little shop and a restaurant. The little shop was obviously very busy with people buying a lot of little items from the "country side". We didn't get time to have a look at the cheese but from earlier years it doesn't look like much changed.

We however did have a sit down outside in the restaurant area. The place is great if you have children as there is a large area to play in. There is a play area that has been built for the kids to hang from and run around.

The menu itself is nothing amazing, there is a small selection of items which doesn't cater to a wide variety of tastes. They could have focused on certain items to appeal to more people but that is just my opinion.

The food was OK. Nothing amazing. It looked like it was reheated in a microwave which gave it an odd taste and texture. It would have been better if it was cooked from scratch or at least partially started.

Overall it is a nice place to go to. But nothing to run home about. Probably won't go back...

Looks like a legit working dairy farm set up. The area is lovely to look at and very quiet and tranquil. There is a deli shop which is rather generous with their cheese tasting samples. The cheese itself is tasty and pleasant to eat. We ordered the chef’s platter for one which was sufficient for the two of us. I ordered a fresh glass of milk which was good but could have been chilled. My eating company ordered and iced tea which came in a can?? The platter had salad and cold meats and cheese. Some of the cheese slices did not look like they had been cut freshly. And then he one slice of bread looked very lonely. Unfortunately we both felt that that the butter could have been farm made instead of a commercial brand. Same for the creamy salad dressing which came in a sachet. The mrs halls chutney could have been in a pouring bottle and rather the sweet mustard be in a ramekin. I did not relish the thought of previous used knives being used to remove the mustard from its bottle. Otherwise a pleasant outing. I will not be back.

Lovely outdoors venue, great improvement in service at the rataurant. The place was packed with people. One concern was the social distancing in that tables in the under roof area seemed not correctly spaced and patrons wandering weaving through the tables to the rest rooms etc without masks. The smoking area directly outside within approximately two metres of the door of the restaurant and the undercover seating area is used as a smoking area and a friend who lunched with us had to leave as his chest closed up, him being a asthma sufferer. The person purporting to be the manager indicated that they could not prevent that as it is blown by the wind. Rather disappointing for a otherwise lovely venue. The menu is slimmed down-currently but more than adequate.
