La Bastide — Hotel in Madibeng Local Municipality

We had an amazing time at La Bastide! The gardens were absolutely beautiful, and we even spotted two adorable bunnies hopping around. The pool was super sweet and quite private, especially when we were there and it wasn’t too crowded. Our room was beautifully decorated and had a cute little touch. We spent most of our time relaxing on the patio, which was a lovely spot. The hostess was incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

One thing to keep in mind is that the shower temperature can be a bit confusing, but once you get the hang of it, the pressure is great. Also, don’t forget to bring shampoo (they only provide body wash). And be careful on the floor, especially when walking on the mats, because they can be quite slippery.

Overall, La Bastide is a really wonderful place to stay. There were just a few small maintenance tweaks to the floor and shower. We had such a great time that we’ll definitely be...

Lavender cottage was absolute perfection, great proportions, simple but tastefully furnished and a lovely subtle touch of French country flair.

Fresh farm milk in the fridge and little welcome biscuits, the bed was comfortable and the linens luxurious. Everything was immaculately clean. Stunning bathroom and well equipped kitchen (although I will take my own chefs knife along next time)

The garden setting was splendid with huge tree in fall splendour next to the cottage a large lawn and plenty of flowers and shrubs to attract all sorts of birds.

The pool was too cold to use in May but sparkling nonetheless and the views of the lavender beds and mountains in the background was perfect from the comfy day bed on the stoep.

The check-in process is non-existent, as the phone numbers available just ring.

When you arrive at the main gate, you can't get in as nobody answers the phones. We had to wait for a car to leave from another B&B so that we could drive in before the gate closed. Upon arrival at La Bastide, there is no one on site. We found the keys to all the rooms in the doors. Unpacked our cars, went out for dinner, came back, slept, packed up, and left the keys in the doors. Again, we had to wait for another car to leave from another B&B so that we could exit the main gate. The property and rooms are as expected, quiet, and relaxing. Just dont expect to find anyone on-site, other than other rooms checking...
