I was so excited to have another Ocean Basket hopefully better than Keywest...but it seems it's the Keywest staff even.
We sat down and ordered 2 strawberry milkshakes for the kids. 1 x non-alcoholic Pina Colada and 1 x normal Pina Colada.
Firstly the waitor had to check if they do non-alcoholic drinks.
The drinks get delivered, 2 x chocolate milkshakes and not strawberry. 2 non-alcoholic Pina Colada...1 was supposed to be alcoholic.
By the time the waitor returned I told him to not worry about the strawberry milkshakes, the kids couldn't wait so they started on the chocolate which they didnt bother finishing.
I took a sip of the Pina coladas and realised that one contained no alcohol so I asked him to take it back and bring my a normal one. My drink returned after about 5 minutes...half full but now tasted correct. At this point I was just so livid I was like "it's fine."
Up until now the waitor didn't even apologise for the incorrect milkshakes or cocktail.
The waitor tripped over the baby chair they brought us 4 times...twice with the baby in it, kicking the chair and turning it.
The waitor came to check on us...ONCE WE FINISHED our food. And proceeded to not even take the plates...and by this time I wasn't even going to order another drink. The manager eventually came to our table to clear our plates.
The table next to us ordered drinks, after about 15 minutes the waitor returned with no drinks informing them that one of the drinks was out of stock.
The other table behind us asked if they could please get served after they were seated for about 15 minutes.
The restaurant was not busy AT ALL!!! There was at MOST, 12 tables in the whole restaurant...the waitors were standing the majority of the time together chatting.
Finally as someone that's a dog lover of note, I would love to take my pets everywhere but you can't. But 1 couple at Ocean Basket is allowed, their dog hops on the chair and sits like a human at the table. Because I love dogs I'm ok with this, but the looks some people gave was a CLEAR sign that a dog sitting a restaurant table is not normal, and those customers probably won't return.
When you looking at around R300 - R450 per head at Ocean Basket this service is shocking!!
Sadly I won't return, Ocean Basket pricing is on par with up market restaurants that have great service and not...

This is the third time I’ve ordered food from Ocean Basket Monument — and for the third time, my food has arrived cold and looking like something from a rubbish dump!
Here’s what’s happening: the Uber driver picks up my order, but Ocean Basket gives them two or three other orders as well. The driver completes those deliveries first, and I’m left last on the list. I can literally watch on the app as the driver delivers to two other locations before finally arriving at mine. By then, the food is ice cold and completely unappetizing.
I even went back to the store to speak with the manager, Warren, and returned the food. His response? He blames Uber. Uber blames the restaurant. Seriously — what is going on?
I’m urging restaurants in Krugersdorp to stop giving multiple orders to Uber drivers. This practice is damaging your reputation!
I paid over R650 for food for two people and tipped R100 for delivery — and this is the kind of service I get?
It’s not just about the money — it’s about respecting your customers. We expect hot, fresh food from a reputable brand. Ocean Basket, this has now happened three times. It’s unacceptable.
Get your team in order — or stop offering takeaways.
Happy customers are loyal customers. Good food makes people smile. Right now, you're just making us angry and...
Read moreToday, we chose to have a family lunch at Ocean Basket. Ordinarily, I don't make it a point to comment or leave reviews, but today's experience was notably mixed. Initially, we were greeted warmly at the door by a gentleman who showed us to a table of our choice. Unfortunately, the table we selected wasn't in his section, so he transferred us to his colleague. This colleague, in stark contrast, didn't smile at all and barely spoke more than a few words, making the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. The highlight, however, was the food, which was amazing. I'm not typically a fan of fish, but my meal was exceptionally good. During our meal, our waitress stood outside, leaning against a wall and shooting unpleasant looks in our direction. I also feel it's important to mention the staff's hygiene. I saw one of the cooks walking towards the entrance, blowing her nose with a tissue, and then touching the door frame with the same hand. Later, another waitress wiped her nose with the back of her hand before handling a bill for another table. In conclusion, while I was anticipating a wonderful experience and the food was indeed great and the restaurant visually appealing, the staff's demeanor and hygiene left much...
