A cute spot! We didn't get to check out the shops cause they were closed by the time we finished eating. I was a tad but confused about the presentation of my meal. I had ordered the Ostrich burger. I exchanged the blue cheese for feta cheese. My confusion was getting the feta cheese and cranberry sauce on the side. We did ask and I got an explanation about it but I would have loved to get the burger how the chef had imagined it. My assumption was that everything would be inside the burger. They did offer to remake it which I thought was nice but it was okay, I was half way through it. I tried mussels for the first time as well 😊.
The Thai curry wrap was apparently nice. The sausage and fries my little brother had were quite good too. They came with this cheesy mayo kind of sauce that was pretty nice. My mom who ordered a steak I think was with veges, didn't enjoy the veges. She did enjoy the chillies that was given with her mean.
It's a cute spot with a lovely atmosphere. Great...

We had drinks, not great on the beer as it was hot and we expected icy cold beers, not our day I guess. The Chicken Liver starter was sublime, creamy and spicy and just deliciousness in a bowl. The mains were satisfactory, I ordered Pizza- the toppings were great and the Pizza was tasty, but, that Pizza base was "strange", it was somewhat rubbery - very difficult to cut with a knife. But, it was okay and so was the Lamb Wrap and Chicken Schnitzel. Goodish food, but, not out of this world. Our highlight was the delightful and extremely efficient and pleasant staff, really great. There's also a kind if "shopping village" - some nice stores and nice stuff (check out Source - the shoe store). Not a bad experience overall, by any means, but, some little touches can make it...
Read moreThokozisa is on my list of places to plan into my Drakensberg trips. It should be on yours too. On our way to Dragon Peaks we stopped by at Thokozisa for a beer and were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful feel of the place. Grant is super welcoming and the music choice is fantastic. The next night we mad our to Thokozisa for dinner where I had a fantastic burger (better than any of the burgers I've had in Canada) and my collogue had a very sizable steak. We were both very satisfied and had both concluded that this place deserved a five star review when Grant came over and gave us beers on the house! I highly recommend Thokozisa whether you are passing on by or staying in the Catkin area definitely make your way over for a meal or even just some...
