Disappointing.. just not what it used to be, dont think will go back soon. This is one of our favourite destination restaurants, and been visiting for years. I made a reservation early today, travel all the way there, and then to be firstly seated in side, where there were tables on the patio, and "walks in" get seated there. Food was ok, however service slow, 1 person on the floor (Shelley tried her best) and then to be told lamb dish (which I was looking forward to) is sold out, and at 12.30?? Planning not very good me thinks. Peroni out of stock?? Such an ideal setting but think that is all going for it at the moment, as the passion is clearly not there. I normally would discuss this with management when I am at the Restaurant but with the few staff .. would have waited too long to to chat with them. We probably would have spent a lot more at the restaurant if was running well, but I actually just wanted to get...

We've had a not so good experience today and yesterday. I wanted to take a friend who visits to have coffee and both times we were shown away as they were too busy and can't take anymore clients for the day. No offering to come back a bit later, no waiting list, just "we don't take anymore customers" although there were 3 tables open. When I asked the snr waitress to maybe put up a sign indicating they are full, she got quite unfriendly and told me I must understand it is whale season and a lot of tourists come to eat so she cannot help they are so busy. My friend is also a tourist....half an hour later the restaurant was empty and they also helped people going in as we were on our way out. Really unprofessional More friendly response like please come back in half an hour's time, or can you wait until "......time" would have been inviting and professional ... Bjt to chase customers away...

I have to break this review into two parts, because the breakfast was lovely, if a bit bland. Sitting outside watching the whales while the ocean crashes below is a lovely morning experience. 4/5 for that. The lunch the next day was a totally different animal. Sitting inside is very odd. It’s very quiet, and I felt like anything over a whisper would be too loud for a conversation. The mojito mocktail was basically just lemon juice in a glass. I will say they did recognise she didn’t drink it, and take it off our bill. The gnocchi with brown butter was extremely bland. Salt helped. The pork belly with spicy cabbage was the weirdest pork belly I’ve ever had. The cabbage had no spice. 2/5.

Overall, the service is quite nice. Make a reservation to sit outside for breakfast and you’ll have a...

What a wonderful little spot that delivers a great view of the ocean. It's perfect on a warm day when you can sit at the tables on the balcony but there are also tables indoors for colder temperatures. De Kelders is just outside Hermanus but here, it feels so far away because of the lack of several tourists. It appeared that locals frequent this place and the food is pretty good. Shoutout to the ladies Julia and Danielle deliver good, sharp service that doesn't feel intrusive at all. Don't know what to order? The chocolate cake is wonderful - it reminds you of a distant time in the past when you were young and the pleasures of life were simple. Stairs don't work for wheelchair users.
