2021 12 20 This visit was incredibly disappointing First we had to listen to screaming and swearing in the kitchen, about 20m away. Seems people there can't get along together I ordered snails in garlic/cheese sauce. I ate the sauce, but sent two snails back, which is the last thing you send back, but they were tough and dried out (freeze dried?) The return elicited another shouting and swearing match in the kitchen Next was the "beef cordon bleue". It looked more like "haggis". No sign of beef. Couldn't even eat one mouthful. Another screaming and swearing match in the kitchen. The manager just shrugged it off "that's how we do it". After this, the apparent management kept taliking about us, gesturing to us and laughing, with one of their families sitting nearby. The manager referred to pattner, giggling "that old lady". Very humiliating, especially for my partner. Whoever runs this place now, doesn't have a decent respectful way of dealing with customers. We kicked up no fuss, I paid and we left. Later, at home, I vomited up the snails My advice, stay away Very different review from a year ago :-(

2020 01 16 Fantastic food again. We couldn't leave any of the food behind, doggy bag for everything. Will have another great meal at home or work. Great service and even made us feel extra special with some treats for a birthday celebration. Had a really great time

Previous: The food is exquisite. Steak... aaaah, mash... you wouldn't think to rave about that, but I couldn't help myself. Little bowl of onions and sauce, so great, we added it to some fantastic chips my wife had. Service great 👍 Decor could use improvement. Old decor was great. Same stuff now as at many other restaurants, no great ambiance. Seems someone in Cape Town thinks they're a good interior decorator (working for many restaurants), but they need to get the hell out of the rest of our lives. Whoever you are... RETIRE! You lost them the last star, you idiot :-( Restaurant very well worth a visit,...

May 21st. We had a great lunch today . The chicken schnitzel was too much for Cynthia to eat : half went into a take away box. I had a magnificent 300g sirloin. Wonderful .

October 8th . Cynthia ate " the best ever" chicken livers , prepared by Buylwa. We were served by the ever pleasant Pamela.

Sept 30. Very good value breakfast featuring eggs , bacon , mushrooms , slice tomatoe , chips , toast with butter & jam . And a cappuccino. All for R84. But why are the eggs so small ? I understand that the owner needs to make a profit . But how about turning the aircon up by 1C ? Would surely save more money than serving tiny eggs ? And no-one would notice.

July 18. Bright blue , cloudless sky . Plenty of outside seating . Drinking very nice black coffee , which was served by a very pleasant young person.

June 3rd . Exceptional value breakfast @R69. Bacon & eggs with hashbrown / mushrooms / toast with butter & jam . Accompanied by tasty hot cappuccino. Served by very pleasant young women.

23rd May . We went for Sunday lunch. Cynthia had a Malaysian curry which she said was too vinegary. I had chicken cordon bleu. First time in my life . I enjoyed it . R109 for the chicken. Excellent value . We sat outside and had excellent service from Pamela. We will go again for another meal .

Great service from Christobel. A wonderful breakfast special. R 69 for bacon ,eggs, hashbrown , tomato, toast with butter and jam . A cappuccino is also...

We went recently for breakfast... A really lovely breakfast, and very friendly service. But the cappuccino, well was just not a cappuccino, and it turns out they don't have a barista, and our waitress made our coffee order, but simply had no idea how to froth milk. Eventually the managearess made our coffee.. But ja, for coffee, maybe not the ideal place if you really like your coffee. However, the food was amazing.. Eggs done to perfection, big helping of delicious juicy bacon, lovely chips.. not a beef sausage, as per menu, but a delicious boerewors, and a very nice white bread was served, which was definitely not ciabata as per menu. Tonight we went for the Monday Burger special of R75 per burger... It was huge.... A big helping of the most delicious chips, an amazing mushroom sauce, my daughter loved her cheese sauce.. delicious buns, super fresh salad garnish, and good quality beef pattie and chicken piece, and 2 big tasty onion rings. Definitely well worth the money, and the wait (it took half an hour for our order). And the ambience in the restaurant itself, is cosy, and it's clean and fresh and welcoming. No loud music either, so one can easily have a conversation! Will go again, and happily...

We have always loved this venue despite the fact that we haven’t visited for awhile and Covid-19 exacerbated this. Today we decided to order Sunday lunch via the Mr.D App. We ordered a Swiss - steak, with Swiss Cheese, mushrooms, onion-rings & Chips. An Eisbein, with sauerkraut, sweet-mustard, butternut, cream-ii-Spinach, chips & onion rings. And we were not disappointed at all, food arrived on time and the meats were prepared as requested. The meals were scrumptious and very delicious. Will always recommend this restaurant....
