Angelo's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Randpark Ridge

I went for dinner with my friend and dad. We were having a lovely evening - Johnny, our waiter was amazing. The starter was impeccable and the service was just as great.

My friend and I placed the order with the lady at the counter and popped out to the shop next door.

We got back to the table and our order was done incorrectly. Johnny handled the situation like a champion, however when he advised her of the problem ; she stormed up to the table and implied that we placed the order incorrectly.

We had to reiterate exactly what we ordered and was given attitude as it was supposedly our fault that the order was incorrect.

From there, the atmosphere had changed and it felt like a chore to get our order done correctly.

We waited for my dad's food as it wasn't on the initial order taken down. Eventually we opted for a takeaway. Meanwhile, we could hear the whole conversation amongst the patrons as to how we stuffed up and not them.

When we left, we got a very passive aggressive goodbye.

Regardless of the situation, Johnny was amazing and kept his composure.

Good food. Amazing service. But...

I have been eating Angelo’s for many years and their pizzas are absolutely wonderful. Their base is thin and crispy, it’s the one crust I absolutely adore. They have a wide selection of good pizza options.

-My absolute favorite is their paphos pizza which has sundried tomato, olives, feta and basil!

-Their Isabella pizza is so iconic. I know it’s not authentic Italian style toppings but it’s so delicious and decadent! Definitely reasonable for being best voted!

-The Milano pizza is such a fan favorite. Bacon, feta and avo is always such a go to. So savory and all the flavors compliment each other.

Besides their pizza, they have some really nice health options. I recommend their health breasts! They have the juiciest chicken I’ve ever tasted and their portion sizes are wonderful and good value. If you want something more hearty - their pesto stuffed chicken is absolutely scrumptious and satisfying. Can’t go wrong with sundried tomato, basil pesto and mozzarella cheese!

Such a disappointment!!! If anyone asked me which is the best pizza place in Randburg I’d say Angelos without a doubt!! But this evening after the owner (I guess) behaved in such an unprofessional manner on principle, I will never eat there again and will never recommend them to anyone. It’s the small things. When you make a mistake. YOUR mistake and then roll your eyes at the customer when they inform you in the nicest possible way that you missed the fact that you requested NO onions (due to allergies), but you still make out like it’s their fault somehow and you doing a massive favour by making another one! Really really disappointing! And hope you enjoy the pizza we left there for you! Learn to deal with paying customers going forward and shove the attitude when you make...
