I am writing this review with a great deal of disappointment and concern following a visit to your establishment with my family. What should have been a pleasant outing turned into a frightening experience due to the complete lack of urgency and competence displayed by your staff.
The incident occurred when my son, who was playing in the playground, spotted a snake. He did the right thing by immediately alerting us and your waitstaff. However, the response was utterly inadequate.
Our primary concerns are as follows:
Total Lack of Urgency and Agency: The staff members we informed showed no sense of responsibility. There was no immediate action to secure the area, cordon off the playground, or safely evacuate the children. They seemed indifferent to a clear and present danger. Reckless Handling of the Situation: The situation escalated from concerning to downright dangerous when a staff member allowed (or did not stop) another child to pick up the snake and simply throw it away. This was an incredibly irresponsible act that could have resulted in a bite or injury. It also deeply traumatized the children who were watching, including my son. Neglect of Distressed Customers: After this alarming event, my child was visibly terrified and shaken. We had to literally beg your staff for a simple glass of water to help calm him down. The lack of basic compassion and customer care in a moment of distress was the final straw.
While we understand that wildlife can sometimes appear unexpectedly, the mark of a professional and safety-conscious establishment is in how its team handles such situations. Your staff failed on every level: proactivity, safety protocol, and empathy.
We are deeply worried about the safety of any child playing in that playground under such negligent supervision. Until significant staff training on emergency response and customer care is implemented, we cannot in good conscience recommend this place to other families. We hope management takes this feedback seriously to prevent a future tragedy.

I too, am a business owner and I understand that you can't fix everything. But the important thing must be thought through and dealt with otherwise the customer experience is dismal to say the least.
You have aluminum doors leading g to the play area and place dining tables next to these. Put a sign saying keep doors closed, but even your staff don't keep the doors closed and it's a windy winters day. For that matter even on a windy summers day this would not work!!! Why put tables near these doors ???? Parent sir here because they want to watch over their kiddies in the play area.
Guests and staff just don't respect people sitting g near these doors. All you going attract is bad customer experience...irrespective of how great your staff are or food is or play area is.
The food is going to get cold very fast with even slight draft..!!! Winter or summer !!!
✅️Solution: I have attached a picture of an auto door closing mechanism from Gelmar or Makro...few hundred rand and problem solved..ITS THAT SIMPLE !!!

Last weekend I wrote a compliment to Panarottis at Clearwater and this week its for Spur at Wild Eagle Ruimsig Roodepoort.
It’s another WELL DONE PAT-ON-THE-BACK for Jabu and Loretto. Excellent service and friendliness Once again, like Panarottis, the Covid-19 procedure were excellent. Demarcation of tables never violated. Distancing etc all well done. We watched Jabu and every time he came into the dining area, he sanitised his hands. The whole protocol was well executed by all we saw. Please compliment Jabu and Loretto. I can’t imagine what it is like wearing a mask all the time even the kitchen staff. Thank You guys for doing that.
Last night we went to a seafood restaurant at Cresta and we observed a couple come in and go sit down without any checks being done. We mentioned this to someone who appeared to be in charge and were told they had sanitised earlier and then went to get something from another shop and returned. We said that’s still not right. While the manager came later and thanked us for pointing it out, the other lady gave us the impression that it was ok to do things that way.
