I contacted Happy Folks a week or 2 before celebrating my birthday there. I was assisted by Kyle, when I made the booking. We were a big group of 32 people, and he immediately handled all my request. (It was storming and VERY cold in Cape Town, Ireland was playing against Springboks, and we were A LOT of people - big ask, to assist such a big group) Kyle sorted us with a very spacious area, in a very fully booked restaurant, we had two TV's in our perimeter, so all 32 could watch rugby comfortably AND they had gas heaters for the cold. Kyle also had 2 follow up calls with me before we came to ensure we are all set with the number of people and how I would like the seating arrangements. (Extra touch - which meant a lot).

We had one waiter who looked after our whole table, I unfortunately cannot remember his name, but GREAT guy. He didn't miss a beat. All drinks, snacks and meals arrived VERY fast, in peak dinner time.

There was something to drink and eat for everyone. I had sushi which BLEW MY MIND. VERY GOOOOOOD! And my friends all raved about their burgers, pizzas and tappas.

On top of that, the atmosphere was amazing. Nice music. Dart boards and shuffle board for some extra fun and just lovely vibes.

Food was good, but we ordered a vodka water and passion fruit (which was undrinkable) and when we got the bill the one single drink was R135 and they used extremely expensive Grey Goose vodka without our knowledge. We asked the waiter why this was used and not normal Pushkin or Russian Bear vodka and they claimed this is the only type of vodka they have. Five minutes later we asked at the bar what vodka brands they stock and they said Pushkin, Grey Goose and Cruz vodka even though the waitress claimed they only stock Grey Goose. As a restaurant/bar in a student town, this was extremely overpriced especially when not being told about it beforehand. This single drink was more expensive than some meals.
