After many many reviews and nearly 900,000 views and individuality some with over 28,000 views...... I'm deeply disappointed throughout this review. This was highly recommended despite the long drive from Cape Town, where we were staying as overseas visitors. Told it was worth the drive.

The views were outstanding but our enjoyment stopped there. It was a Monday late lunch so not particularly busy. The seat I sat in outside was literally falling apart with dry joints and very wobbly. Changed seat but from then on it continues downhill.

It took time to get served once we were seated, and I picked what was suposed to be a special burger and my wife the lamb. I was asked how I'd like my burger, and I told them medium rare. Eventually....... our order arrived and sad to say my burger and the chips were cold cooked on the outside and still cold on the inside. Too much sauce and yesterday's lettuce. And the toasted bun, not sure if it was actually toasted but was so dry it almost seemed stale and yesterday's bun. It was just inedible, and before I'd complained in disappointment, I asked my wife to confirm it wasn't me.

Then the long wait for a server to come to even ask if we were enjoying our meal but nobody came. Eventually, after my wife had finished and they came to clear the table, and my only chance to complain. I was advised by the server she would tell the manager. Who eventually came and apologised and asked if I would like to order something else. Well, what do you think was my response. My wife had already finished and if I reordered how long would that take to prepare while my wife sat and watched me eat. So the answer was no thank you. Again an apology and advising the burger would be removed from our bill. Really, that was their way of resolving a disastrous situation, hence this review.

So service as well as the food, you can appreciate, was low rated because there wasn't any. And when there was service it seemed they were doing us a favour.

OK, so the atmosphere is not totally their fault but sitting next to the proverbial American loud tourist on the next table and my lousy burger I came very close to telling them to shut the hell up, or words to that effect but I can't print.

Now if you read my reviews I try to be fair and reasonable at all of the establishments around the world where I have eaten some individually with over 10,000 views and more. If it's good, I say so, and if not, I also say so.

So the bill arrived, and not even complimenting the meal as the burger was only partially eaten. Or the two sodas we had. Just the burger not listed. I was not impressed.

Will we go back and give them another try. I think not. You only get one chance at a first impression, and this for a recommended establishment and highly rated the whole running of it needs to be reassessed.

Would I recommend it with a glowing review? Well, I guess not, but I a deserved one. Shame because we were looking forward to being blown...

During our visit to the picturesque Postcard Café, we were welcomed with a casual yet inviting tone by the front-of-house staff, who promptly offered us seating options. It's worth noting that reservations are strongly recommended, as the café is very popular. Walk-ins may be disappointed, whether they're there for the restaurant or the wine-tasting experience.

The menu is diverse, catering to various palates with vegetarian, meat, and fish options. We chose the Usana free-range egg omelette and the free-range chicken vindaloo. The dishes arrived swiftly, impressively without compromising on flavor or presentation.

For dessert, we sampled the Valrhona dark chocolate mousse cake and the Sachertorte, both of which were delicious and generously portioned. The food was faultless overall. However, while the vindaloo was tasty and flavorful, it lacked the strong spiciness typically expected from this dish. Additionally, the water served is self-bottled, not a store-bought brand.

The staff were friendly and professional without being overly formal. The café gets quite busy later in the afternoon, with patrons lingering until the last possible minute before settling their bills and exploring the surroundings before 4 PM.

I would certainly recommend Postcard Café. Not only is the setting picturesque, making it an ideal spot for a good meal, but the food itself matches the beauty of the...

Such a bad experience by far. My fiancé surprised me today as we came all the way from Milnerton area. Our first encounter with Tabang the waitress . We weren't ready to order so we said we will look at the menu so we need around 5min. He sarcastically tried joking with us which I didn't find amusing or appropriate. Then he never came back and Akhona came to take our order. Not a smile or any interaction whatsoever . Our drinks came and our oyster but someone else brought it. Never did she come to check if we good and if our order was satisfactory. We then had to call someone to ask if we can order our mains. Akhona came but no still no interaction. Our food came and that was it for us. No one came to check nothing. What a bitter taste in my mouth. The Manager walked up and down but I approached him for a menu to see for desert. Then he came back and I couldn't help myself I told him I'm not happy the worse service ever. We were still contemplating having our wedding at the venue. Our bills was R815 my fiancé paid in full R900. Which I thought was not deserving at all. I'm livid because we spend money the food wasn't great and well the...

Probably one of the most picturesque places in all of the Cape. Driving into the winery you’re quickly transported into an imaginary world where the beauty of nature is magnified. It feels almost unreal. Hats off to the vision of the owners. We chose to book for breakfast, seated next to the waters edge on a perfect Cape Town day, expecting the food to meet the standards of the surroundings. This was unfortunately not to be. The coffee and ice tea was delicious though the full breakfasts and the breakfast croissant was below standard. Unfortunately, the waiters were not as attentive as expected and did not seem very confident or well trained. The host who met us as the door and escorted my family and I to our seats certainly set the bar high in his mannerisms and professionalism. We certainly will be back for the ambiance and beauty.

Nice visit at Postcard Café Near Stellenbosch During my visit to the Postcard Café nestled in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley near Stellenbosch, I was welcomed into a casual yet inviting atmosphere, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Stark-Conde Wines. The café, known for its Mediterranean, vegan, and vegetarian-friendly fare, offered a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and preferences. I've had an enjoyable wine tasting session. The wines, while good, didn't quite leap into the realm of extraordinary for me, yet they provided a pleasant introduction to the local vineyard's offerings. The staff were friendly, embodying the laid-back charm of the area, though I noticed moments where their attention waned a bit, leaving room for slight improvement in service consistency.
