Spier Hotel Restaurant — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

I went to the Spier hotel restaurant for breakfast with my colleagues today and they could not offer any vegan options for me. The only option on the breakfast menu was avo toast and they didn't have avo.

I asked to order from the main menu (which the website states is an all day menu, I checked) and they said that I couldn't before 12, even though they had no other option for me which I feel is such poor service because they couldn't accommodate me based on their breakfast menu. They didn't have plant based margarine so I got dry toast with dry mushrooms and a processed tomato smoor as a makeshift meal.

I left there feeling incredibly hungry (especially because I am a breastfeeding mother and I need to eat a proper breakfast to sustain myself) and was disappointed with the service as Spier prides itself on their organic plant to table food but they can't offer one decent vegan breakfast option.

I love food and I've always been an avid supporter of the local wine farms, and I've visited the winery multiple times, as well as attended events such as the light art show, I was very disappointed in the service I received from Spier restaurant. Please treat your vegan clientele better @spier because you will definitely lose out on a very good passionate client base of you continue on this way

The hotel is amazing, so are the room and the premises of the entire wine farm. The food is great, the breakfast buffet was the best of our entire vacation in South Africa. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful, especially the new trainee :-). The staff at the restaurant however, is not at all what we are used to in this beautiful country. They don’t welcome you, don’t even look at you, some staff is sighing at simple questions. That’s such a shame since the restaurant has such a cool vibe and the food is so good. Dissapointing.Im writing this Review willst sitting in the Restaurant. We were told no a la carte only Set Menü. The mussels divine *I guess they couldn't do any damage ) Then comes the beef Roastbeef and shoulder lamb roast. HORRIBLE /TASTELESS cold.We sent it back.Was offered rib eye steak ( what was served was everything but) Asked for medium rare, steak was "english" sent it back again(came back well done).Vegetables tough,Hopefully dessert will save the day .Spier made a name for themselves now after all service is HORRIBLE.Our waitress even had difficult opening the bottle of wine.Sorry but pls employ professional staff inside the Kitchen and those serving.Dessert just arrived.Need I...
