Beautiful place but the websites and social media should clearly state NOT PET FRIENDLY.
We came from outside of town to join family on an outdoor picnic, with our not even 17 week old Yorkie puppy who is better behaved that most children, and were told she is not allowed in.
I asked to speak to the restaurant manager who heard my argument and understood I would not have brought the puppy along if I had known it was strictly not allowed (not clearly stated when I searched it on their websites and social media).
On agreeing to sit with her in our car, and that we would not drive 45 minutes to drop her off at our accommodation, I took her out of the car 30 minutes later and walked her in the car park so she could get fresh air on a moderately warm day in Stellenbosch. I was then approached by a very upset security in a golf cart, telling me the owners are not happy with this. Is my dog not even allowed to walk around my car, nowhere near to guests (which was the argument of why dogs aren’t allowed as everyone doesn’t like them). Not even having bothered anyone or made a mess anywhere?
I get rules. I get why things have to be in place. My argument is STATE IT CLEARLY. Update your websites, your social media and google maps info. Make it clear as daylight and don’t leave room for paying and supporting members of the public to be...
Read moreI was there yesterday with my friend. We were helped by a lady named Susan, she was not friendly at all and was quite rude at the beginning. I was preparing my phone camera to capture the experience and as I was doing that she could see her face from the phone but my intention was not to show her face but the wine tasting experience. She immediately went off at me that I was including her in my video which I had not even began to shoot, she was very rude about it and I even told her that she could’ve spoken to me in a respectful and nice way because my intention was to never include her in the video. Samantha was really nice with us at the beginning before Susan came and I wished she had remained with us. My whole wine tasting experience was ruined yesterday and wanted to start my birthday month on a good note but she ruined it for me. Everything else was alright but the service we received from Susan was horrible. I ended up not even listening to what she was saying because I was very pissed. I also work in the service / hospitality industry and people like taking videos and photos of people but I respectfully speak to them to not include me in their...

We recently visited for the soup and wine tasting experience and unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. From the start, the service felt rushed—even after clearly mentioning to our server that we weren’t in a hurry and wanted to enjoy the tasting at a relaxed pace. We had hoped to order a bottle of wine afterward to extend our visit, but were abruptly told we could only drink it on the red couch a few feet away, which felt unnecessary and poorly explained.
During the clearing of our table, one of the bowls tipped over and the spoon fell on me. While I completely understand that accidents happen, what made it uncomfortable was the server laughing and not offering a towel or any kind of assistance.
The atmosphere also left much to be desired, with carpets that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, which added to the overall lack of attention to detail.
We ended up going to the picnickery area, which was marginally better, but sadly didn’t make up for the initial experience.
Overall, there’s potential here, but serious improvement is needed in terms of staff training, guest experience, and general...
