Norang Tongdak (Yellow Chicken) is a franchise restaurant which says it fries its chicken in a cauldron (iron pot), making its chicken extra crispy.
The restaurant is also a 'good' restaurant, recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its efforts in reducing the sodium content in its food.
Whereas most chicken restaurants will receive their chicken pre-salted, the salt-adding process comes after customers place their orders.
We were trying to reduce our sodium intake and asked if they could skip the salt and thankfully they were able to accommodate the request. We ordered Garlic Chicken with the sauce on the side.
To my surprise, the chicken still turned out to be quite delicious and very crispy. We took the leftovers home and the chicken still maintained its crisp even after several hours.
One thing to take note of is that they don't offer any rice with the meal. It seems that the restaurant has more of a 'pub' vibe and ordering beer would be more of an option than rice.
