Raj indian restaurant, Chonnam Univ. branch — Restaurant in Gwangju

Though I was a student for 1 yr in the Chonam Univ,Gwangju,never knew an Indian rest exists and Morean students seem to like the Indian dishes,though prepare a little less ' mevayo '( spicy). Location of Raj rest is ideal,just behind the main stop of the univ. Comfortable sitting for 30 odd guests on the grd fl,with provision to drink soju a d beer. The staff is Nepali,fought the owner is a Korean. A wide variety of menu and rates are also reasonable,though on the higher side for the students. We 3 of us ( one of us from Phillipines),ordered 4 tandoori roties,ooghobi,daal tanka and mutton biryani for the Phillipini. All th dishes were tasty,esp the daal and the Biryani was topped with dry fruits.Green salad and sweet Lassi was compli.entary and total bill came to 60 k Won.We could finish the stuff,sogot it packed. The 2 cooks and the lone lady waitress ,were cheerful and no demand for tip ( not a practice in korea). The ambience of rest. is OK,with a big pic of the Tajmahal. Recommended to have a break from daily layman( noodles)...

It's really nice restaurant ! Owner and staff are really well mannered. If you would like to have some indian food in your budget, I would recommend you to visit this place. Specially if you are vegetarian or have halal restrictions, this place has many delecious food...

Food quality is average but people are great and you get the taste of some known foods. If you miss Indian foods and feeling lazy to cook then can...
