CONSISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REQUIRED. I have had two contradicting experiences at this cafe.
At the first visit on 13 September 2024 in the morning, my partner and I stopped by for coffee. At the time, we were unaware of the kiosk implemented at the counter, however, the staff was kind enough to take our orders in person and accept our card payment; and we ordered 2 cups of soy cappuccino. She also kindly let us know there were more seats in another room where the piano was located. The coffee tasted good as much as the ones you find in Australia and we thought it was a lovely local cafe with good coffee. Our place is just across the cafe.
On the second visit on 26 September 2024 in the morning, we visited the cafe again. However, this time, the service was a totally different story. When we walked in, the female staff (with wavy hair just reaching her shoulders) was on the phone facing the bench top behind the counter showing her back to us. She noticed us, but she did not acknowledge us or make any eye contact to acknowledge the customers at the counter. We somehow waited until she would turn around. By that time, a group of 4 women rushed into the cafe and approached the counter. Then, they pushed us in and started making orders via kiosk at the counter. That is when we realised there was a kiosk. The female staff finally hung up the phone and turned around facing the counter. It should have been obvious to her that we had been waiting at the counter for a while even before those 4 women arrived. However, the female staff did not even try to assist us with our orders. When we said we would like to order coffee, she merely said: "Order at the kiosk". Yet, those 4 women had not even finished their orders while hogging the kiosk. If she were sensible, in those circumstances she could have taken our orders at the counter, however, she refused to do her job. The attitude shown by that female staff was ill-mannered and arrogant. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
######UPDATE###### In response to the owner's response, I have checked with the witness who had visited the cafe with me and confirm that the date was 26 September 2024, not 25, so I have amended my review to the effect that our second visit to the cafe was on 26 September 2024.
