Opened by mother and daughter haenyeos, the restaurant was a small cosy place with walls adorned by media coverage and family photos.
Came here in a March late afternoon. Ordered sea urchin noodles, conch spicy bibim and boiled octopus.
The sea urchin noodles were okay, capturing saltiness and flavour from the urchin in the soup. But it wasn't memorable.
Conch spicy bibim was appetising and felt healthy with lots of vegetables. It wasn't spicy and overall the dish was good.
The boiled octopus was disappointing as it came iced frozen. Its frozen state destroyed the texture and taste of the octopus. Perhaps it was neither lunch nor dinner time and actually some time in between which was why the dish was stored in the fridge. Still, they shouldn't have served it.
Overall, I guess it won't hurt to visit once, just to soak in the popularity of the place given it had significant media interest. Lower expectations...
