View was beautiful. Such beautiful location.

… We ate at the restaurant side. The alcohol alcoholic beverages were really pretty, tasty, and yummy, but it seemed like there was no alcohol in it. So I asked for a shot of vodka to add to it. No problem.

Pasta Bolognese was good. The burrata salad was also good. The shrimp pasta was OK - it could been seasoned more.

However……. We also ordered the hanwoo steak special (KRW 120,000) and asked for it to be done medium well. Unfortunately, the steak came out rare and we didn’t send it back to be cooked more because the steak came out about 20 minutes after the other entrees and we were too hungry to wait any longer.

The highlight of the meal was dessert. The grapefruit gelato is not to be missed. The complementary bread service was also good.

남양주 북한강 근처에 있는 근사한 카페입니다. 카페 입장할 때 3,000원을 받는데, 먹을 것을 주문할 때 입장권을 제시하면 입장권 금액만큼 할인이 됩니다. 음료 주문을 하지 않는 인원에 대한 정책인 듯 합니다. 아무튼 카페 중정에는 커다란 바위가 놓여져 있고 그 외곽을 둘러싼 건물 공간은 카페입니다. 공간 자체는 (아주 좋게 봐줘서) 나오시마(直島)에 안도 타다오(安藤忠雄, Ando Tadao)가 지은 오벌(Oval)에 바위 하나를 더한 걸로 보이는데 나름 해당 건물에 강한 영감을 준 걸로 여겨집니다. 혹은 제주도 핀크스 골프장 근처 비오토피아에 있는 이타미 준(伊丹 潤)이 설계한 물 박물관을 연상할 수도 있겠습니다.

아무튼 감각적인 공간임에는 분명하며 맑은 날일 경우에 한 해 개방된 중정 위에서 바라보는 밤 하늘에는 별들이 제법 잘 보입니다. 이런 측면은 이곳만의 장점이라고도 볼 수 있겠습니다. 그리고 카페 안에서 중정을 등지고서는 북한강을 볼 수 있기도 해서 좋았습니다. 물, 바람, 밤하늘의 별과 바위가 자연스레 한 곳에 녹아들게 설계된 카페로서 이곳만의 매력은 멀리서도 방문할 가치가 있도록 해준다고 봅니다.

그렇다면 맛은 어떨까 궁금했었는데 일단 이곳에서 판매하는 시그니처 커피 중에서 그나마 가장 저렴한 커피를 시도했는데 맛있었습니다. 장소적인 매력 못지 않게 커피도 맛있었는데, 첫번째 방문이기에 그 외 다른 메뉴는 잘 모르겠습니다. 재방문 의사는 확실히 있습니다. 참고적으로 금남리 555로 내비게이션에 주소를 입력해야 건물을...
