Abalone Porridge — Restaurant in Seogwipo-si

This was my second visit to this charming little restaurant, and once again, I was blown away by the warm atmosphere and delicious food. The restaurant is owned by an elderly couple, and it’s clear they pour their heart and soul into every dish. In fact, they’ve transformed part of their home into this cozy dining spot, giving it a unique and personal touch that adds to the charm.

One dish that stands out and is an absolute must-try is the Abalone Roast – it’s simply exceptional. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it’s a highlight of the menu that I highly recommend. Another great dish is the Abalone Porridge, which is rich and comforting on its own, but for an extra treat, I suggest adding some Abalone Hoe to it – it elevates the dish to a whole new level.

Lastly, the Steamed Dumplings are a must. They’re perfectly crafted, with a soft, delicate texture and just the right amount of filling. These are another dish you definitely won’t want to miss!

Where do you get a bowl of heart warming porridge with slices of abalone for breakfast at 8.30am? Here it is, home cooked by a pair of elderly couple. Lady boss was very thoughtful asking a loud and noisy customer to lower his volume as she sensed us feeling uncomfortable haha. But actually the customer was comical and funny. So we were enjoying his singing! I think the elderly couple were sincere and honest running a simple eatery in a humble home. We tasted the freshness of the food and homely banchan. Place was clean and owners were smiling at us making sure we were well-received! Please drop by if you are staying nearby, quiet and simple eatery in front of the sea.
