Greenroof Jeju, also known as "kkotdam handmade burger," is a fast food restaurant located in Seongsan-ri, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju, South Korea. It's known for its vegan burger with a soy patty and two types of vegan cheese and has earned a 2024-2025 Jeju Gourmet Spoon Award, a testament to its high-quality food and service.
The restaurant's unique ambience seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern convenience. The exterior boasts a striking green roof, creating a tranquil and eco-conscious atmosphere. Inside, exposed wooden beams and brick walls lend a warm, rustic feel, while large windows flood the space with natural light, creating a bright and airy dining area. Simple, modern furniture complements the rustic elements, maintaining a clean and uncluttered aesthetic. While they have modern self-ordering kiosks, there's a friendly note at the kiosk for foreigners, encouraging them to order at the counter, which we found to be a very helpful gesture.
We were drawn in by the inviting ambience and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. The restaurant offers a selection of high-quality burgers, each offering a unique flavour profile. Burgers include options featuring grilled pork (with or without shrimp), kalbi (beef and pork), fried chicken, and a vegan option with soy protein. All burgers come with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, and a signature sauce. Customers can customize their burgers by adding jalapenos or bacon. The menu also offers set meals, which include fries and a choice of soft drinks (Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Zero Coke, milk, or Americano), with upgrade options to ades or smoothies They also offer a variety of payment options, including cash, LINE Pay, and credit cards, which is convenient for travelers.
I ordered the Kalbi Burger, which features a 140g beef and pork patty, and we could hear the sizzling pan as the chef prepared fresh burgers. The aroma was heavenly, and the anticipation was quickly built. The fries were cooked to perfection, crispy and delicious, and the burger itself was a delightful combination of flavours. The service was friendly and accommodating, even going so far as to let me switch my soft drink to a coffee, which was a perfect ending to our meal.
The restaurant also offers a book collection, a unique touch that creates an inviting and cosy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. Another thoughtful detail is that all the utensils are placed within a sterilizer machine, showcasing their commitment to cleanliness.
Greenroof Jeju is a fantastic option for a quick and delicious meal in Jeju Island. The quality of the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the thoughtful touches like the book collection and the helpful notes for foreigners make it a hidden gem. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying burger experience in a relaxed and...
Read moreEstablished in December 2015, and strategically located at the entrance of the Seongsan Ilchulbong park with crowds of tourists and locals, the GreenRoof Jeju (꽃담수제버거) is a picturesque restaurant in a cozy cottage serving hearty burgers. With a name that aptly translates to 'Flowering Burger', the GreenRoof Jeju is a great watering hole for a visit. . Ambience is natural and cozy. With its unmistakable grass roof, cobblestone walls, and greenery lined surroundings, the warmly lit place is an oasis of tranquility away from the crowds. The sturdy wooden and metal furnishings are decently comfortable, and they even offer a small reading area, although the books stocked here are all in Korean. . Service is friendly, though largely self-service, with ordering, payment, collection, and clearing up, all done over the counter. I see diners take the effort to clean up properly, so we did likewise. The place doesn't have many staff, but they work quickly to fulfill orders. The menu has helpful Korean and English words, so ordering is easy. . Food is comprised of American and Korean cuisines, focused on burgers and light bites. Ingredients are fresh, and dishes are well-executed. They also offer a good range of beverages, including local craft beers. . Portions are large and hearty for individuals. Prices are comparable to other cafes, budget about KRW ₩21,000 / SGD...
Read moreConveniently located next to the seongsan mountain (for the post climb hungers).
A simple reasonably priced burger joint that won't leave you hungry. It's not the best burger in the world, but it's good. The fries are very crispy and the burgers are predominantly pork (something I'm not personally used to). I had a double pork, but it seems their star is the prawn and pork. I'm not good with seafood so maybe this is why there are so many 5 stars for this place. (Or it could be because they incentive reviews with a free can of coke).
On Google maps there are two burger places right next to each other. They're the same place.
After the climb. If you're hungry, grab food here. Don't expect the world, it's no 'no drama' in East Acton (a place in London that does the best burgers). But like I said, you will leave with a full belly ready for whatever you...
