We stayed at the hotel and had a family lunch (a four-course meal) after checking in, but our experience was disappointing due to several issues:
Slow Service: The time it took to place our order and the delays between courses were excessive. We sat down at noon and didn’t leave until 2 PM due to the extremely slow service. The gap between the main course and dessert, in particular, felt like 20-30 minutes. We were on the verge of leaving when a server finally came over, informed us that desserts would be out shortly, and then requested that we pay in advance because the restaurant was nearing closing time.
Table Maintenance: The servers never cleaned the table throughout our meal. Even at casual restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, servers clear crumbs off the table, let alone at high-end places. However, here, the empty bread basket and plates remained on the table the entire time, cluttering our space. The table was also covered in bread crumbs, which the servers neglected entirely, making the dining experience messy and uncomfortable.
Temperature Control: The restaurant was uncomfortably hot. When we asked a server if the temperature could be adjusted, we were told that they couldn’t do anything because of the restaurant’s location next to a garden. However, the server offered to bring us a bottle of ice water, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, we never received the ice water, and no one refilled our glasses, leaving us to share the remaining lukewarm water among ourselves.
Poor Service and Rude Attitude: Although the service was poor, we didn’t complain at the time as it was a family gathering with my parents, and we wanted to maintain a pleasant atmosphere among us. The real issue arose when we checked out of the hotel at around 10:30 AM the next day. I realized I hadn’t provided my Bonvoy number at the restaurant and asked the front desk if they could add the points to my rewards account. They directed me to the restaurant, assuring me someone there could handle it promptly. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, the staff, busy preparing for the 11:30 AM opening, were quite cold. A server told us to return at 11:30, but as we were leaving for our next destination, that wasn’t possible. I also mentioned that the server who processed my payment the previous day should have taken my Bonvoy number. The bad service, combined with the dismissive attitude, was frustrating.
When Rachel, presumably the manager, finally came over to take my Bonvoy number and receipt, I explained the issues we had encountered. Her response was surprising—her facial expressions and body language conveyed a clear sense of indifference, as if to say, “So what? What do you expect?” She simply said, “I’ll pass your concerns along,” without offering an apology.
Her reaction made it clear why the service had been so poor the previous day. If the manager doesn’t care or see the issues as a problem, it’s no wonder the service suffers.
While the food was fine, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion. It’s likely to...
Read moreThe Margaux Grill has the perfect harmony between hardware and software It is urban oasis surrounded by beautiful garden with special cuisines of premium beef and exceptional variety of fine wines. It presents lunch (120K KRW) and Dinner (210K) courses, and seasonal special dinner promotion. (Club Marriott Members can get 20% D/C for F&B, and after the discount, the price looks more attractive.) This time, I am lucky to enjoy the Spring Hanwoo 1++ Dinner at 230K.
Appetizer – Founder: Ceviche is wise and appetizing starter, especially for this journey to its signature beef dishes. Soup – Bajirak Clam Chowder Soup: Hot soup after starter is good variation. The Soup is savory with chewy clams. Entrée – Sous Vide Chicken Leg Roulade Cleanser – Grapefruit Sorbet Main – Hanwoo 1++ Tenderloin: I recommend medium-rare which presents the best of tender (even slimy) and juicy mouthfeel. According to its reputation, it is divine! No special sauce is needed for me to enjoy its taste and Maldon salt is good enough. Dessert – White Apple Tart
Special thanks to Mr. Alex Yim (Manager) and Mr. Glenn Kim (Sommelier) for their top notch service. It is a great restaurant that Ms. YoungSil Yang (F&B director) would be proud of her restaurant, and eventually, her staffs. It remains regrettable why I didn’t know such a good restaurant sooner. It is very tasteful and wonderful experience and all of my guests enjoy this upscale dining...

Ate at the Margaux Grill at the bar facing the wood fired activity and all of the chefs. The head Chef and Staff were fantastic and very engaged with me. Chef personally showed me the choices of meats and cuts, their origin and how the livestock are fed. Amazing experienced given that I had plenty of time to enjoy. Paired a nice moderately priced French wine with my Korean steak - amazing. The source of the meat is actually fed dried pine needles as a health benefit or biotic crating great marble. The MOBO Bar next door is a great bar to kick off an evening and the garden bar are for both lunch and dinner looks and feels like nothing I have experienced in Seoul yet and I am here often. What a great place for a small or...
