Bar Restaurante Ginés — Restaurant in Águilas

We were looking for a place to eat in Aguilas and read the recent positive review. Made the booking but could not believe what greeted us on arrival. It looked liked a fish and chip shop with a few tables. Was about to cancel the reservation but then realised the restaurant was upstairs. Just like the photos. From there on in it was a wonderful experience. Helpful and attentive staff, delicious food and amazing wine list. We opted for the local white at €16 a bottle which was really good. So glad we had made a reservation as the restaurant filled up and there was a great buzz. Thank you for a delightful evening. Amazing value for money...

We happened upon this on TA and popped in for lunch. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment until June but we ate in the bar anyway as the kitchen was open. The food was lovely and our server as helpful as he could be given the language barrier! The scallops were perfectly cooked and the homemade bread was yum. I have to say the tenderloin beef - which was what I would call rose veal was the nicest plainly cooked meat dish I have had in ages. We went here without any expectations and we were blown away by the flavours. We ordered artichokes with clams and pine nuts as starters and duck with foie gras rice as main and they were so good, an explosion of flavours.  Service was also great.
