The food was good, although we have had better in other restaurants in the area. However, the service left much to be desired. We went on a Sunday afternoon and while the outside patio was full, there was almost no one inside. Our order was taken in an acceptable time and the wait for the food was reasonable given the crowd on the patio and the fact they had a busload of people in the events hall next door to the main restaurant. We had a leisurely lunch and the inside started to fill up with locals. When we came to leave, we had some difficulty getting our waitress' attention. That was O.K, but once we did, we had to ask twice for our bill. After half an hour, we went to the bar and asked for it. The barman asked what table we were at and, in 10 seconds, produced our bill.
We speak passable Spanish so we have no idea what might have provoked our waitress to visibly ignore us. The message we got was "foreigners...
Read moreThis restaurant is amazing, the staff friendly and the owner superb. We took a trip out from our day job at a local hostel in the area and discovered them at the Caminito Del Rey south, they have only been doing it a week but it's the BEST deal in the area by far; a free shuttle to the restaurant in a scenic and very Spanish and rural town 10mins away, with a menu of the day for 12 euros including a starter, main and tasting session of local products which you can buy on-site. The food is outstanding and most is homemade, you can also order a-la-carte if you wish. We also tried their homemade desserts - delicious! They can also book tickets for the caminito del rey for you. We will definitely be recommending this to our volunteers and customers visiting the caminito del rey!! Thank you Leonardo...

The local pensioner who had breakfasted (all day) on red wine was loud, virtually incomprehensible, great entertainment and plenty friendly with everyone there. Food was exactly what I was looking for: home cooking. Prawns pil-pil, mixed salad, chicken kebab on an open grill outside and lightly fried hake with a wine for each of us. Delicious, fresh and nothing overcooked. Too expensive at 21E each given the locality but being a tourist has...
