Mar y Cielo — Restaurant in A Guarda

Warning: Do not approach this restaurant if you have a dog with you. I walked toward their entrance (still outside in the parking lot!) to ask the owner the hours of his kitchen because I’m staying at the hotel next-door. Suddenly his dog came out of nowhere and viciously attacked me and my dog. The owner just stood there and even his wife came out and they did nothing about it. I was screaming for five minutes because his dog wouldn’t stop attacking us. Finally he approached and took his dog back. I almost called the police because it was such a vicious attack. It is really a shame, I was prepared to spend money in their restaurant. But I feel I should warn anyone else who might be on the mountain with their dog:...

I understood why the reviews were so low when I entered this place. Because the other cafe was closed, we chose to have a coffee here: we were greeted by a grumpy old man, who didn't really understand what we wanted (we spoke in Portuguese and English) and who was accompanied, including inside the restaurant, by a dog. Después de pasar el día con la familia viendo los Castros, decidimos comer en este restaurante. Hay que decir que aunque a priori se vea demasiado turístico, por su localización, la carne y pescado estaban muy tierna y fresco. El precio me pareció algo elevado en comparación con otros lugares que estuvimos visitando en las Rias Baixas, donde comimos de 10. Aunque al final la locación también se paga. Mis pegas van hacia un plato que pedimos para compartir, que son las croquetas. Me parecieron un timo, pequeñas y sin apenas sabor. La empanada que pedimos venía recalentada de microondas....se quedó con una textura no muy agradable. Otra cosa que recomendaría mejorar, sobre todo por que nosotros fuimos con familiares extranjeros, es la traducción al inglés de la carta. Ayudaría a una mejor...
