One of my favourite things to do when visiting my mum who lives near Albox is to have a fish and chips meal on a Friday at what was Chapman’s but is now Chatlotte’s and this Friday was no exception. We got there quite early at about 6.30pm and tables in the garden area outside were full so we went inside. We were given a choice of sitting in the room at the front where the bar is or the dining room at the rear. She chose the front room as it is much lighter and airier in there. The waitress, as friendly as ever, explained that they had been very busy and as such did not have the steak and ale pie,chilli nor scampi available. This was a shame for mum as she wanted the pie but plumped for the Hunter’s Chicken instead. I went for the large fish and chips with mushy peas. Read moreWe very nearly walked by, I am so glad we didn't! Give this place a go, we did and we had a fantastic meal. The staff were very friendly, English speaking and couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent, we had steak and chips and the steak was perfect and the chips were some of the nicest I have had. Steak is only on the menu a few times a week and on this occasion it wasn't actually on the menu, however, the staff were very accommodating and cooked us steak. From stepping through the door the lady was very friendly and attentive and very informative about the menu's.
