Having had a thoroughly good meal here before, we returned with friends last night only to be disappointed. We were there about 6ish but were assured the kitchen was open. The bar only had a few customers, mainly watching the rugby. On the positive side, one of us had the beef cannelloni, which was excellent. However, 3 of us opted for the jumbo cod & chips and cannot say the same. The first plate out looked excellent, but on both the second and third plates, the batter on the fish was not cooked through, and the fish in those places was only tepid. The first piece did have a small amount of slightly liquid batter, which was not a big problem We explained to the waitress and she took both plates away. When she returned them, one had just had the fish re-fried, whilst the other had to be replaced completely, and therefore there was a significant delay before our 4th member could eat. Both pieces were then over cooked, and partly inedible Yes, the owner did come and apologise when we had finished our meals, and said it was down to the varying thickness of the pieces of fish, which they were unable to control. However, the problem was mainly with the batter and not the actual fish. I feel both returned plates should have be replaced with fresh fish, cooked at the right temperature and time, not one refried and one fresh piece. It would have been a better option. We did have 2 deserts, which were okay, not anything special, and paid the bill. We were offered complimentary chupitos, which we declined. The owner did apologise again, but this has put us off of returning and also recommending Cheers to our other friends. Sadly, it seems the quality of food is becoming inconsistent at the end...
Read moreCheers is located in the Marina area, close to Las Fuentes beach. We came in for lunch after spending the morning and early afternoon on that very beach. For a family of 3 generations, this turned out to be a good choice because the extensive menu had something for everyone. The kids chose from a good selection of tapas and the adults chose something more substantial. The menu included traditional Spanish food together with many international choices. Service was very good and food was brought to the table soon after ordering. Everyone enjoyed their selections. Very good...
