Pizzeria Cioffi — Restaurant in Alcalà de Xivert

This place claims to be as old as I am, so - after many years spending summer vacations in Alcossebre - I decided to have dinner here and understand the secret sauce of this long-time running business.

Unfortunately - as I feared - there's no secret besides the cheap prices for basic dishes (5.50€ for a basic burger, 6€ for a Margherita pizza) and fast serving. Very. Fast. Serving.

The food itself is average at best: the pizzas are made with an industrial dough base, which is thick and wet after cooking. Vegetable toppings were still cold/frozen; I had better luck with the Diavola and chorizo salami on top, but still far from a memorable experience. The tomato pot for pan tomate was also very bland: a very small pot (compared to the mayonnaise one) of plain, tasteless tomato. No oil, no salt. That's quite a shame since pan tomate is one of the most characteristic and delicious (if done properly) things you can get here.

What a Place for Enjoyment. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and the variance of food on offer makes this the place to be. The man himself, "Cioffi" and his family, are such a lovely group of people, including the staff they offer service with a smile, which sometimes is not readily available everywhere. My wife, family and friends are regular visitors, whether it be on the way to the beach, on the way back or for a meal in the evening. Thanks for everything,...

Fuimos tres matrimonios con niñ@s a cenar. La cena consistió en pizzas y hamburguesas. Las pizzas son caseras y se nota el sabor y calidad de la masa. Así mismo los ingredientes de las mismas estaban muy bien tanto en cantidad como calidad. Conclusión, PIZZAS EXCELENTES. El servicio de las mismas fue bastante rápido. Las hamburguesas no brillaban por una carne de calidad sobresaliente pero resultaron muy ricas en su conjunto y gustaron bastante. El pan era de bollo, no sé si tiene opción de otro tipo de pan. Las hamburguesas incluían un bol de patatas q también estaban ricas. En cuanto a postres tienen variedad de helados comerciales. También ofrecen varios postres caseros. La tarta muerte por chocolate estaba riquísima, aunque la porción me pareció un poco excasa. Para terminar tomamos unos combinados, punto en el q el restaurante nos decepcionó un poco. A modo de ejemplo el destornillador lo pedí con zumo de naranja natural y se notaba q no lo era por el sabor amargo del mismo. Una amiga pidio una caipiriña y le gustó pese a llevar limón en vez de lima. Tal vez no era el mejor sitio para pedirlos por ser un restaurante de tipo familiar. Quiero resaltar el excelente trato del personal y en particular de los dos camarer@s q nos atendieron.
