Taberna Pikapote — Restaurant in Alcalà de Xivert

We were a group of five that came for dinner and loved the food, service and atmosphere. We ordered a mix of raciones and then one of us had the solomillo. The food was traditional Spanish fare with a slight modern twist. I often feel this can lead to being too fancy and detracting from the core Spanish tastes but in this case it was tastefully (no pun intended) done.

The welcome was excellent. A cozy, tucked-away restaurant that is neither too large nor too noisy. Top-quality food and very friendly staff. Truly recommended.

Both the fish and the meat dishes were excellent, and not to forget the dessert — their sorbet served with cava was absolutely spot on.

Paella is amongst the best i've ever had, try the spring chicken paella for something different. The rest of the menu is pretty simplistic (e.g. if you order a burger, you get a burger and not much else) so I would only ever go for paella to be honest.
