Restaurante marisquería-La Alegría — Restaurant in Alhaurín el Grande

So disappointed to have the poor experience I did tonight at this restaurant for a family meal. Upon arrival, we were given the drinks menu however, despite being the only people in the restaurant we waited long enough to the point where my partner had to go up to the bar to order our drinks. The young lady originally serving then seemed to of disappeared by the end of our drinks and we were sat there in silence with no waiter to offer any other refreshments or order any food. After around 15 minutes of sat with no server we decided to ask a woman who was behind the bar smoking a cigarette who we assumed must work there, if she could get us another drink. The woman put her cigarette out and rustled around for a wine which she clearly cudnt find sat back down and we were still left awkwardly with nothing. Finally not long after, a man walked into the restaurant who looked like he was about to start shift. There was clearly a change over period where we had been left unattended with no server. The second waiter I did feel sorry for, as once arrived, he was very attentive however, being hungry, Thirsty and ready for food after being left with no waiter for a lont period of time he then forgot drinks we had ordered and the service then continued to be unsatisfactory. This was a family meal we had looked forward to for a long time and if it hadn't of been for the food being so good we would of been so upset after attending this restaurant due to the terrible service we had experienced. My partner had spoke and ordered in Spanish from start to finish too, so I really feel we shudnt of been treated any different to a typical Spanish family who I do not think would put up with this poor service. It is such a shame we had this terrible service as if it wasn't this I would of given a 5 star as the food was beautiful. To top it off, we were offered zero desert menu and my partner had to go back up to the bar to ask for the bill. Not good enough when there is plenty other restaurants around I'm sure would make sure we weren't...

Big fight in restaurant, staff didn't get involved. Customers were. Ruined my wife's night so much she could not stay yet even without eating they still charged us for our meals. They don't care about their customers. We and several others will not be going back. One had a knife glasses broken every where. Can't believe they still charged us for food we didn't and couldn't eat because of the atmosphere. They even bought the food out while the customers were trying to break up the fight and needless to say it was all cold by the time every one...

Location is fine, but a lot of traffic (normal because it's the main road). Food is not so great. Portion size is hugh but food seems to be not really fresh and is tasteless. (Bacalao tasteless, shrimps overcooked and like rubber, Gordon Bleu of chicken oké, champignons swimming in a lot of moisture, Duck liver pate tasted like pre fabricated food). Overpriced looking at the quality/freshness. Staff is not very friendly and on our check were 2 drinks we didn't have. Of course the waiter corrected the check but an excuus...
