Restaurante El Coche — Restaurant in Andratx

Arrived at 7:45 to request reservation. They said they could do 8:30. Perfect so far. Went next door to Ferns. (Ferns in highly recommended btw). Came back to restaurant at 8:30 and the rudest most ignorant waiter i have ever experienced in my life said they could give us a table for only one hour. We questioned why they didn’t say this when we placed the reservation and he laughed. His response ‘So do you want it or not’. We had no choice and accepted it. Service during dinner in laughable. The waiters are very inexperienced. Thinking we only had an hour we skipped starters and a bottle of wine and ordered mains. The waiter didnt move fast. Took ten mins to get menus another ten to order. Food was good. No waiter checks on you missing multiple opportunities for additional sales. Anyway at 9:30 we finish. Thinking we would get the bill they gave us dessert menus. WAIT, you said you needed the table by 9:30????? Why give dessert menus?? Frustrated and annoyed we asked for the bill paid and left. Would never return. Its a complete con job. A sham. DONT Go. Instead go to Ferns a few doors up the road and experience proper hospitality and food and wines. Date 28/07. Best regards & love...

We went last month and it was one of the poorest service experience. My wife was pregnant and had several questions about the food. The person who took our order accepted to ask the kitchen about pasteurised cheese for the starter but then refused to go back later and ask questions regarding the mains. She sort of suggested that we exhausted the questions we could ask. Only because my wife said she wouldn’t have diner there in this case, the lady accepted to go back and ask. Then they forgot a main and were rude about it saying that we didn’t order it. It was a table of 5, everybody heard the order and there were only 4 mains …. Despite all this happening, this happened again when the desert arrived with the wrong type ice cream for the kid. They again suggested that we ordered wrongly. To be very clear, 4 people were native Spanish speakers, so it’s not a “lost in translation” situation, it’s just very poor service and rude owner. This port offers just so many options… just don’t stop there...

We were in Mallorca for two weeks, 13 dinners. We ate out every night. Every meal was delicious and fresh. We stumbled on El Coche, and it was our luckiest find. It was the best meal we had hands down. We returned two more times during our stay and each meal was better than the last. The people remembered us when we returned each time and the service was excellent. The food was spectacular. The French style clams were the BEST any of us had ever had. The bread was fresh and warm. The fish was perfection and the side dishes were also delicious. Everything we ordered over the course of the 3 meals was prepared with so much thought and attention we all left with clean plates.
