Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I had so far in any restaurant in Spain. Where to begin...
As I often say, a good restaurant needs good food, but mostly good service and good atmosphere. The place looks nice from outside, but once you're inside you notice how dirty it is.
But the worst part was the service. From the beginning, we were greeted by a "move out of the way" in Spanish. Then, we were assigned a table near a large group of people. We noticed that they were not treated very well, and neither were we. We overheard that one of the waiters name was Juan Manuel, but we don't know the name of the other one. Either way, the service was abysmal. From beginning to end. And it was definitely one of the worse, if not the worst, services I've ever experienced: rude waiters, ignoring orders, bringing wrong food, complaining to us for ordering multiple items, throwing things instead of handing them to us, the list goes on and on.
The only positive thing was that the food was OK. It wasn't good, but it wasn't disgusting. It was edible. But due to the service and the bad conditions of the restaurant, I cannot give it 2 starts. 1.5 maximum
I hope this helps people avoid this place and travel a bit to get to eat...
Read moreThe food really isn't bad. We went to this restaurant a few times to have dinner, snack and breakfast. For dinner we had Paella and 2 other fish dishes, all of them were fresh and delicious! Then you can grab some cakes that have been sitting for a while so don't expect some super high quality food there, it's mostly okay and good at best. The coffee is served in small glasses which was a bit funny too but it's really just a small village :). The kitchen opens around 12, so they won't serve you menu items earlier than that.
Communicating can get a bit tough too if you don't know Spanish but it's managable.
The restaurant is in a good location as well. You can climb down the stairs to have a swim, and the shuttle bus from Caminito del Ray drops you off here as well.
Now for the worst part: wasps. Tons of them. Once they bring you food, you will get swarmed by wasps. If possible, just eat inside from the beginning. Sure you won't get fresh air/wind, but at least you'll be safe from wasps and flies. Wasps have been a problem in this entire village around Caminito del Rey entrance... Really ruins an otherwise good...
Read moreTerrible place.Tasteless and stale food. Very bad coffee. Very bad service. Unpolite waiters. It is a pity that in such a beautiful natural park there is such a bad restaurant, which is designed for a massive flow of hungry tourists who especially have no choice since there are only a few restaurants in the surrounding area. Before going there, we read the reviews and saw that the rating of this restaurant is low and a lot of complaints. But we were very hungry and decided to eat at this place, which was a big mistake. We understood that the food would be average, but we did not expect it to be so bad. The most important thing is the stale food. They brought us chicken fillet that had the smell of stale chicken. It was not tasty and unpleasant to eat. The other guests' dishes also looked unappetizing. The man at the next table ordered meat that he couldn't chew. It's a shame. It's better to stay hungry than to eat in...
