If you’re seeking a dining experience that transcends the ordinary, El Portinyol is an absolute culinary gem. Nestled in a charming locale, this restaurant delivers a symphony of flavors that will leave your taste buds singing.

From the moment you arrive, the inviting ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The menu is a celebration of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, crafted into dishes that are nothing short of masterpieces.

The seafood paella was a revelation—each grain of rice infused with the rich, briny essence of the sea, perfectly cooked with an array of fresh seafood that tasted like it had just been plucked from the ocean. It’s a dish that feels like a love letter to coastal cuisine.

The puff pastry salmon was a showstopper, its flaky, golden crust encasing tender, melt-in-your-mouth salmon. Every bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that danced on the palate.

The marinated mussels were a triumph of simplicity and sophistication, their delicate brininess heightened by the perfect balance of seasonings. Meanwhile, the calamari offered a light, crispy exterior and tender interior that were nothing short of addictive.

The anchovies paired beautifully with the tomato bread, a classic yet elevated combination that transported us straight to the Mediterranean. The salad with tuna was equally remarkable—fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor in every forkful.

What truly sets El Portinyol apart is not just the exquisite food but the meticulous attention to detail in every dish. Each plate feels like it has been lovingly crafted to highlight the finest aspects of its ingredients, cooked to absolute perfection.

In a word, wow. El Portinyol is a restaurant that doesn’t just serve food; it creates an experience—a journey through unforgettable flavors that linger long after the meal is over. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a destination worth savoring. Don’t just take my word for it—go and taste the...

Expect a party in your mouth; the guests of honor include scrumptious delicacies only available in those rare moments of looking away from the daily hustle of attempting to survive yet another hour in this inexplicable but suspiciously tasty existence. For instance, Madame Girgola de Castany, a shroom so rare it only grows in the watery holes of a Catalonian Chestnut tree. It tastes like the chestnuts went to the sauna and came back all exfoliated & ready to party — but in a different hole this time). Also, ridiculously yummy on all levels of texture, drip, reduction, concentration and overall munchiness was Monsignor Sepia Rice, a Catalan classic that usually packs a punch and cannot ever go unappreciated. Here they cook him with uttermost care. The fine Oysters that slid in (almost uninvited) last minute left me yearning for a certain type of frantic behavior later on due to the steep intake of Zinc and sexy micronutrients that inspire naughty apertures and lecherous jiggles in the night. The most certainly mouth-watering Navajas always make a fine addition to the banquet, especially when the garlic is au point. You can virtually just inhale them one by one as the flavors parade through your frontal orifice with astounding proficiency. I will briefly mention that the Tempranillo we drank was the most delicious wine the waiter could have scouted for us, indeed noteworthy. I mustn't forget to mention the marvelous view of Lady Ocean herself, who was thence calm and collected. Staff are ionic and appear to be relatively at ease despite the heavy load. Top...

My wife and I held our informal wedding ceremony in El Portinyol in August 2023. Since we live in Germany but wanted to celebrate our wedding on the beach near Barcelona, we were looking for a location for up to 80 guests. Reducing the number to 40 guests was no problem. The ceremony took place on the roof terrace with an aperitif afterwards. Dinner was then on the first floor, where the dance floor was also set up. The food was phenomenal and the staff was very friendly and professional! Vegan and vegetarian food was also very delicious! We were referred to very professional partners regarding the DJ, wedding speaker, photo booth and decoration. It was an incredible event and our guests absolutely loved it. Our wishes were taken into account. I can absolutely recommend El Portinyol and am already looking forward to our next visit to the restaurant should we be in the area again. Thank you very much and hopefully...
