Found this restaurant in Astorga while on the camino de Santiago. This is a classy, old school type restaurant with very experienced wait staff. They have menus in English and the waiter worked hard to speak to us in English which is helpful when trying to determine what best to order according to our tastes. There was an older gentlemen waiter who appeared to have 40 years experience. It showed in the way he handled himself and poured the wine. Polished is a good word I would use. The food was incredible. Had chick peas with wild mushrooms soup and pork cheeks. We chose a red Rioja from their extensive wine list and loved it. They offered a multigrain bread that was to die for. The chef came to our table twice to check on us and make sure we were pleased. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want a top notch overall...

We discovered Serrano restaurant while we were doing the Camino de Santiago, and it was an exceptional experience. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed with excellent attention. The food was simply outstanding. I highly recommend the octopus with chickpeas, the cod and orange carpaccio, the lamb, and the pasta. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly executed.

All the desserts are delicious, so make sure to save room for them. Plus, the chef personally visits the tables, adding a special and personal touch to the experience. Serrano is truly a gem in the heart of Astorga, and I highly recommend it. Definitely not...

Only had our Camino clothes but felt very looked after. Service was incredible - including recommendations of what to order, accompanied by the most friendly smiles from anyone we have come across along the trail. Thank you Raul! My dad made a fool of himself trying to google translate Spanish but Raul spoke perfect English. Food was beautiful, very tasty. Our favourites were the salad, carpaccio and the cannelloni. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a treat after too many pilgrim chicken legs. Worth every cent and more! A...

Outstanding! Everything about this restaurant was good. The service was excellent, and we were greeted well and seated right away, though we had a reservation which is recommended. They had a great variety of dishes, including some out of the menu that were in season. The food was well presented, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant is cozy, clean, with a great atmosphere, and the bathrooms were immaculate. It was a great place to eat at. Highly recommended.

Family owned and run -- every bite was exceptional. I captured photos of the cecina and chickpea and pulpo appetizers, but I neglected to snap the wild mushrooms (which were amazing). The chickpeas were melt in your mouth amazing. Mild and tender lamb for the entree followed by a tapas style dessert assortment -- really can't rave loudly enough about this place. You should just go. 😊
