Update 12 March....Well, we said we would be back and once again superb cooking. The Ossobusco was, once again, perfect. I can recommend the hake; cooked perfectly with a nice delicate sauce. Our friends loved it too ...thank you!

First visit 5th March: Wonderful lunch. A lovely warm welcome on arrival from friendly staff and seated near the welcoming fire. We booked for 1pm but 2 of us being 40 minutes late was not a problem for them, despite being heavily booked. The food was plentiful, beautifully cooked and presented. Three menu del dias options; we chose the middle price. The three tapas varieties served before the main were delightful, imaginative and were a meal in themselves, but the chef then did an amazing job with the beef shin we all chose as main. Desserts were excellent and with drinks included at under €25 a head they deserve every one of the 5 stars. Definitely be back next...

Excellent restaurant in a beautiful environment. Practically anything you order has extraordinary quality, without flourishments of sophistication. It is very loyal to local products, they obtain many of the 'prima materia' from the fields and producers around, from virgin extra olive oil to nispero cream, herberos. It is well served with fresh food from Altea's port, and cuttlefish is a must, but they also are specialised in local culinary treasures, like the 'olla de blat', and the variety of cocas. The deserts sections also contains specific receips of the landscape and area. Great quality at not cheap but...

What an amazing place :) We had gone to Guadalest but it was so busy we just went passed and was looking for something to eat and came across this restaurant and what a meal we had. The food was beautiful, well presented and lots of little tasty starters which were so good, the service was fantastic and we would definitely recommend this wonderful place it was so peaceful and relaxing on the terrace surrounded by the stunning mountains.

*Easy to find as you drive through the arches in the town it's just there on...
