A highlight of dining in Spain. The owner is gregarious, kind to children, and passionate about his food and guests. We received 2 large plates of mussels gratis (excellent), and each dish was very well prepared over wood fired grill. Highlights were chili oil shrimp, scallops on a bed of squash purée (maybe it was carrots), salmon and the pork. There was a bit delay in getting entrees but there was a small team assembling complex dishes like mixed grill. Wine choices are superb and priced with minimal markup. We spent 200 on a meal that would cost $500+ in the US. Town is adorable but...

The best food we had in Mallorca. We went to Antic Grill three times, since it was so good. Not only the food - which is fresh, local and high quality, but also the service. The owner explains you the whole menu, the meats - where are they from, what part of the animal they are, etc. The menu is not big - which I think is a good thing - you know, the ingredients are fresh and seasonal. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice - like home. You get bread and aioli and a small mussels starter. Really one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had (not only in Mallorca). Que mal sabor de boca… y no por la comida. Tercera vez que visitamos este lugar, la atención del dueño es maravillosa, siempre esforzándose por hacer que te sientas bien, pero ojalá todos los trabajadores tuvieran ese sentido de pertenencia… llegamos y nos dan una mesa fuera, la aceptamos (ya que no teníamos reserva) y le proponemos a la camarera que cuando se vacíe dentro, nos deje pasar dentro (porque hacía mucho viento) a lo que nos dice si…. Tras 40 min comiendo fuera y varios comensales saliendo… me acerco y veo varias mesas vacías, le pregunto a la camarera si se desocupo alguna, me comenta que no. Las mesas vacías,…. Le vuelvo a preguntar que si no están vacías y me dice que están reservadas… insisto ya que eran las 15:00H y el restaurante cerraba a las 15:45H como para haber tantas reservas… su respuesta es “que de las gracias por que me ha dejado comer fuera y me ha cogido” a lo que me quedo atónita y el resto de comensales apreciando la escena, le digo que me cobre lo que he comido y que ya no me saque nada más que me voy y me responde lo siguiente “no, no te preocupes por tu culpa voy a tener que desmontar una mesa de dos para que te sientes” (todo esto no con la mejor de las sonrisas)… sentimos que incomodábamos, y que la atención no era acorde con los precios ni con el lugar. Una pena que los propietarios se esfuercen por que todo vaya bien, y el resto no tenga ganas de trabajar. Obviamente, lugares donde comer bien hay mucho, lo que diferencia es el trato, es lo que compramos los clientes, la experiencia. Y por cierto, las mesas siguieron vacías a la hora que nos fuimos.
