What an incredible place to have a hot samosa and the Indian curry! All I was expecting at the farthest easternmost landmass of the Iberian peninsula was wild tramontana, and look what I was served along with the winds from beyond the Pyrenees, of course. The bar cum restaurant overlooking the Cap de Creus, a lighthouse and coves is mostly busy because of its strategic location and the good food. Liked their collection of wines and other beverages besides the famous Indian curry and samosa filled with meat (so what if as an Indian I was expecting mashed boiled potatoes with chillies & spices instead) and served with chutneys 😋 Fantastic sea food and other meat delicacies were also hot favourites.

Went to the restaurant Cap de Creus and it is worth it for the views alone. Service was ok to good, friendly but a little haphazard. Food was excellent. I had a huge steak, my wife a beautifully cooked teriyaki tuna steak and my daughter loved her curry. They also regularly hold concerts I understand as part of their drive to keep music live. Meal for 4 adults and 2 children only came to 150 euros inc some wine, which I think is great value considering it’s location. But what really sets this place apart are the fantastic views. We sat outside on a bright December day, still warm enough to eat and enjoy your food, drinks and views. Worth the slightly terrifying and exhilarating drive!

Food is good but service is absolutely TERRIBLE. They not only treated us badly but then treated us as thiefs shouting at us and claiming we hadn't paid when in fact we already had!

We've had 2 terrible experiences service wise in this place which is why I'm writing this review . First one was back in 2020 when we were told our credit card had "not worked" and ended up being charged twice for the same expensive meal for four. We tried countless times to dispute this, but ended up giving up waiting for them to get back to me.

The second time was last week when we asked to be seated outside in the terrace. We were given a table in the shade and when asked again if we could have one of the tables with sun (reserved) given that we'd only be a few minutes, the waitress went crazy and started yelling at us and saying we could leave if we weren't happy with the other table. We decided to pay for our drinks and go eat elsewhere, but as we were leaving the waitress started shouting at us again saying we were leaving without paying. She made a total show in front of other customers and when clarifying we'd already paid, no apologies came our way...

This place is a gem but I've never been treated this badly!...

Sadly, the restaurant experience did not make up for the long and challenging journey.

Upon arrival we were asked to sit at a table which had no space for our baby’s push chair (even though we phoned and explained in advance).

The waiter suggested we leave the baby in the push chair behind our table, out of sight, and at the top of a stair case heading down the mountain. No thanks.

We moved inside the restaurant where more space was available.

I believe we sat for more than 30 minutes before someone took our order for food and drinks.

Then our starters arrived cold (muscles) and a few moments later our seconds arrived, and were piled on to our table while still eating the starters.

We explained that there is no room for all these dishes, can’t you wait until we finish starters? - the waiter explained that the kitchen doesn’t wait for customers to finish eating.

The food was average, colder than ideally served, and the atmosphere was hectic. Staff running around all the time, yet never asking if we need anything.

The scenery is amazing, but we left feeling deeply dissatisfied in the experience we had been looking forward to sharing with our family.

Most likely not...

This restaurant is in such an amazing place, with spectacular views. The tables on the terrace make the most of the view. Unfortunately, that's where the amazing ends. Turning up at the 'wait here to be seated' sign, we were ignored by several staff who didn't even acknowledge that we were waiting. In the end, we walked round to the terrace to be met by a very gruff (bordering on rude) man who I took to be the owner. I can't imagine anyone who spoke to customers the way that he did being employed by anyone in hospitality. We were seated, given menus, then ignored again for about 15 minutes. While we were waiting, a woman arrived and said that she had booked a table at the edge of the terrace. The rude man berated her, asking if she could not see that all those tables were taken? He was so incredibly rude, I don't know why we didn't leave then. The food was OK. The rude man wouldn't bring our bill, he told us to 'pay inside'. As we were leaving he had the nerve to ask if we had paid!! I wish I had realised that there is actually another restaurant at the top of Cap de Creus in the lighthouse building. We'll try there on...
