We called in here after a walk in the beautiful surrounding area. I needed to change my shirt and as there was no-one to ask, I assumed the area to the left of the bar was the way to the toilet (it was not locked and the door was wide open). As I was changing my shirt the owner appeared and demanded to know what I was doing there. I explained that I thought this was the way to the toilet. He said it wasn't and that I should ask before walking in. I explained that there was no-one to ask - there were no staff in the bar. This wasn't good enough for this idiot who continued to aggressively insist that I should have asked, and then produced a bell from underneath the bar (totally obscured from my view) and said that I should have rung the bell. It was obvious that he just wanted to have a go at someone rather than accept that it was an innocent mistake, leaving a sour taste in our mouths after a lovely afternoon. I really do wonder why jerks like him think that they are suited to a career in the service industry....
Read moreBeautiful and simple mountain hut originally intended for the shepherds passing their animals to the pastures. Today’s it’s managed by Laura and the family who took wonderful care of us. We pre-booked half pension which meant we got to stay for 2 nights and had our breakfast and dinners here. The home made food was like therapy after a long walk. They accept cards and are super friendly and helpful. They have hot running water, simple and clean rooms and facilities and shower which is charged per person. We stayed here with children and loved the hosts, the food, the coffee and the location so much that we extended our stay. The spot has its own parking which means that if you have a booking to stay you can drive all the way in your car up the mountain just make sure they have your car licence plates to make it smooth. The spot also had free WiFi for guests. We will be...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed in this refugio during our trip to Asturias in October 2022. We arrived on a rainy, windy and misty afternoon and the owner kindly let us in the refugio before the check in hour. The room with bunk beds was simple, but nice and clean. We got one time use bed sheets which is what you usually get in these kind of places, there were blankets too. We got a half board deal, so dinner and breakfast were served in the refugio. For both meals the portions were abundant and all the food was good and homemade. Next day we went for a 4h walk around both lakes and came back to refugio to have lunch and to pick up our bags. It was a lovely experience and we congratulate the host on running such an...
