Wow! What an experience! Would like to inform though that it’s not possible to drive your own car to the lake. I’ve read that it is possible before 08:00 in the morning, but not sure if that’s correct. I recommend to get there EARLY! Park in one of the many different spots around the Cavadonga church and either take the bus or taxi up. You can also walk or bike, but that would take a long time and it’s a lot uphill. It’s approximately 20 minutes with car to this lake and during the drive you will have stunning view and also see some cows and sheep. I would believe taking the bus to the lake would be cheaper, but you need to follow their schedule, and you cannot leave whenever you want. If you want to take the bus be aware of the schedules so you don’t need to wait for a long time, they do not depart that often. Therefore we decided to take the taxi, which is located close to the barrier. The taxi departs all the time and drives up and down the whole day. It costs 12 EUR per person for a return trip (up and down) and you can leave the lake whenever you want. You can pay with card but their machines loses the connection sometimes, so I recommend to pay with cash. The taxi driver told me that be busiest time of the day is between 12-14 so you should arrive before this hour to...

What a place!! Can’t even explain how beautiful it is so definitely must see it by yourself.

If you’re driving there you should go very early as the parking up in the National Park area has a limited capacity and it use to be busy. I would recommend being there at 6:30am, it is dark but the sky looks amazing and you can watch the sunrise from the “mirador del principe”.

The is a bus service starting from 9am and a taxi service that takes to the National Park.

There are a few hiking routes to do around the lakes which are very...
