The hotel was perfectly ok, but we arrived having left behind sun and seaside so I was in a slightly bad mood. Very slow check-in. Our room was fine, slightly small, no view of the cathedral but of the tourist office. Hotel is rustic, as others have said, and full of character. Beds comfortable, all amenities - not four star, but that's ok! Was rather put off by the terrace - the pictures we had seen beforehand had sold us the hotel over the opposition, and it wasn't quite as in the pictures. ||That evening we walked up the hill and saw the opposition, which is MUCH grander - annoying, because we'd been quoted a similar price. Looked at a room there, which was better, but they told us one price and then told us another which was 20 euros more expensive, plus no breakfast. El Repelao was only 30 euros a night, including breakfast, which was good. The staff weren't overly friendly, which you might hope for in a small hotel.||The bar next door was great and incredibly cheap. The bus stop for the mountains is just across the road, so a good...

Read moreHotel El Repelao is ideally placed for guests to enjoy a walk up to the Basilica and caves or to drive up to the lakes further into the mountains.Over our two days we felt as though we really got to know the family from Grandad running the bar on the roundabout to the granddaughters getting off the school bus even though their English is as little as our Spanish.Our room was small, ensuite, immaculate and comfortable enough.Breakfast was excellent with bacon and eggs being cooked fresh and it made a nice change to have service rather than a buffet.Dinner, wines and beer were very good, the sun shone and we really enjoyed our stay.Just remembered excellent free...
