Bar Venecia — Restaurant in Catral

What a disappointment. Been several times before and always happy with the service and food. And they do the best grilled vegetables but went today and what a disappointment. They were busy, service was slow, we were sitting outside, so forgotten about. Ordered a portion of Patatas bravas and charged 8 euros, as there were 4 of us but had the same size portion before and only charged 2 euros. Ordered Solomillo de cerdo, not what expected but our guests ate it, although didnt think we would be charged 18.00 for a plate with a few strips of Solomillo in a sauce with some handmade crisps around the edge. (We thought it would come out like most times, like a plato combinado) When I said that was expensive, I was told Solomillo is expensive!!!! Sadly...

Visited today with friends, we had a lovely lunch from a very varied menu. It included various starters, Tapas, main meals , Meat, Fish, paellas, bicadillas, salads, Desserts/postres, alcohol and no alcohol drinks, coffees. The food was freshly cooked to order and it was well presented. The food was cooked to perfection. The dining area inside was nicely laid out and whilst a tv news was on the sound was turned off so, it was great for chatting and socialising over our meal. Great food, great environment and very reasonable prices....

Absolutely love this place the menu de dia is fabulous today I had paella to start calamari for main which came with fries and an egg (they added an egg to all their mains) all served with a fresh salad and bread and dessert plus a glass of wine for €10 unbelievable actually I had a 2nd glass of wine for a euro...
