Kambalache Asador Argentino catral — Restaurant in Catral

Took my friend here last night, after raving about it being the best restaurant in Catral. We were so disappointed. What has happened?? We waited ages after being seated before we were asked what we would like to drink. I asked for some menus, which in my opinion should have been given to us shortly after arriving. The waiter looked so put out that I asked. Eventually I had to call the waitress over to take our order, this was almost an hour after our arrival. She sad give me three minutes. We chose the premium mixed grill for two. A couple were seated next to us an hour after we arrived and were given their menus immediately. Their starters arrived 15 mins after they had sat down, including empanadas. We eventually received our salad, which was really good. My friend wanted to save hers to go with the main. I explained empanadas would be served next, as per the set menu. Instead, 90 minutes after we arrived, we were served the mixed grill. I asked the waiter where the empanadas were and he said oh I was going to ask you if you had had them. I told him to take the meat back to the kitchen as I wanted what I had ordered. I suspect our empanadas were given to the table next to us. Two empanadas were served, with a weak apology. One chicken and one meat. Both were cold in the middle. Our jacket potato was served next but not as we had ordered with the alioli on the side. Instead it was on top. We waited another ten minutes for the meat to be served with our now luke warm potato. By this point, my friend had eaten most of her salad as we had waited so long for the food to arrive! To add to our dining experience, the waiter proceeded to spray nearby tables with a strong bleach solution and leave it to soak. Hence filling the restaurant with a good dose of bleach. The mixed grill was good (hence 2stars) but to be served dessert and then have the table next to us sprayed with the bleach solution and then left to really burn our nostrils, was the final straw. I have been coming here for years but it’s time to say adios as this was below par and even the attitude of the staff was shockingly poor. My final note is this, the waitress tried to defend their poor service by telling us there were only two waiting staff. So why was everyone else’s food served in a timely manner and in the correct order? I would not recommend this restaurant and certainly won’t...

El restaurante acogedor, la comida de buena calidad, ahora en la segunda visita (y última), no han tenido la deferencia que yo, como cliente esperaba. En la primera visita mi mujer y yo comimos bien (150€), cuando nos íbamos, Sergio (camarero que nos atendió nos comentó que en la próxima nos invitaría a las copas), en la segunda visita (110€), y no íbamos buscando la invitación de las copas que nos comentaron en la primera visita, nos pedimos unas cervezas, una botella de vino, parrillada premium y le pedimos a Sergio una tabla de jamón, salchichón y chorizo, el coste 17€, a lo que nos comentó que con la parrillada le parecía excesivo, a lo que vimos buen gesto por su parte y le comentamos que nos trajese un poquito de jamón únicamente, que por cierto, era de guijüelo, trajeron una tabla, la verdad que contundente, pero nos cobraron los 17€ que costaba la tabla inicial de embutidos, que si lo llego a saber, la pedimos con todos los embutidos, pero bueno, llegado el fin de la comida, nos pedimos cafés, un pacharán con hielo para mi y después un mojito para mi mujer, nos trajeron dos mojitos, pero bueno, ya que estaba puesto, nos lo quedamos, luego a la hora de abonar la cuenta, que eran 97€, le comenté a Sergio que trajesen dos mojitos más, y en tono poquito de broma y otro poquito en serio, le comenté lo de la última comida, lo que nos comentó de las copas, y nos dijo que nos invitaba a dos chupitos, a lo que yo le contesté que nos acabábamos de tomar un pacharán con hielo y dos mojitos, que íbamos a pedirnos dos mojitos más, que estaban muy elaborados y buenísimos, que por lo menos nos invitase a uno de ellos, a lo que me contestó que no, que la dirección de la empresa no permitía el invitar a copas, sólo a chupitos, reclinamos la invitación de chupitos y seguimos con los mojitos en la terraza, la cuenta, ascendió en total a 110€, no tuvieron la deferencia ni de invitarnos a un mojito, que se que no es obligación de invitar por parte de la empresa, pero después de gastarnos 260€ en dos comidas, mi mujer y yo, pues no me sentó muy bien la verdad. Estuvimos hablando con María, camarera, el ir ahora con el buen tiempo a cenar y luego probar la terraza de la planta de arriba para seguir tomando cócteles que pronto abriría, pero visto lo visto, no volveremos a ir, han perdido un cliente, y me considero de los buenos, pero prefiero quedarme en mi ciudad, Elche, no tengo que desplazarme y a los restaurantes que vamos, por lo general, tienen alguna deferencia con los clientes, no es por el dinero, por 6.50€ que cuesta cada mojito, mi situación económica sigue siendo la misma pagando 100, 125 o 150€ en una comida, y creo que para el restaurante también. El trato bueno, la comida buena pero fueron varios errores (la tabla de jamón por el mismo precio que la de embutidos habiéndonos avisado de que era contundente, nos traen por error dos mojitos en vez de uno la primera vez y aún así volvemos a repetir con otros dos mojitos....y no tienen el detalle de invitar ni siguiera a uno ?? ). Han perdido un buen cliente y por supuesto sus...

Visited as a party of 4 people on the evening of 15th November. Will not return. Nice enough place with pleasant staff however one member of staff has a problem with personal hygiene. Also when presented with the condiment holder on request there was a small cockroach in the basket that escaped to the floor & was promptly stood on by a staff member. By this time our food was on the table otherwise we would have just left at that point.I chose a burger main at around 13€. Decent meat but totally dry bread bun with a large piece of lettuce leaf on top along with a slice of tomato & cheese & a small amount of fries. An underwhelming experience to say the least. We left hungry after paying our 120€ bill. Had a look at dessert menu priced at around 7€ per portion but no thanks. Just another pricey steak house.
